    Press Release MARCH 17, 2013 Renault powers Lotus F1 Team and Kimi Raikkonen to Australian Grand Prix victory The Renault­powered Lotus F1 Team E21 of Kimi Raikkonen has taken the first win of the 2013 season following a scintillating Australian Grand Prix. The 2007 world champion started from seventh on the grid and used a clever pit stop strategy to secure victory by more than 12 seconds over Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso. Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel finished in third overall in the Infiniti Red Bull Racing, putting two Renault­engined drivers onto the podium. Raikkonen graduated to fifth off the start and made an early change to the medium compound tyres on lap 9. He completed a long stint on this set of rubber and, despite two light rain showers, stayed out longer than his closest rivals. The Finn returned to the pits on lap 34, after which the strategy unfolded perfectly as Alonso, Hamilton, Massa and Vettel made one further stop, leaving Raikkonen out in front. Vettel converted his pole position into an immediate lead but likewise made an early switch to the medium tyres. He then raced hard with Sutil, Hamilton and Massa, before taking the final podium spot. Team­mate Mark Webber had a slow start and struggled with a KERS that only functioned intermittently, but had a strong finish to claim sixth overall.     PRESS RELEASE 31 JULY 2020 SHELL MALAYSIA MOTORCYCLE GRAND PRIX 2020 CANCELLED Friday, 31 July 2020 – Sepang International Circuit (SIC) regret to announce the cancellation of the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2020. This is due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic that has resulted in the decision of the cancellation. Originally, the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2020 was scheduled to take place on 30 October to 1 November 2020. The outbreak has led to Dorna Spos, the organizer for MotoGPTM to release a revised 13-rounds calendar with back-to-back races in Europe. Malaysia is the latest addition to the cancellation of the flyaway rounds which includes America, Argentina and Thailand. Malaysia has been the longest serving venue for the Grand Prix in South East Asia since 1991. SIC has been a permanent fixture on the calendar for the Malaysian Grand Prix aer taking over from Shah Alam Circuit and Johor Circuit in 1999. Since then, MotoGPTM is the biggest two-wheels International spoing event in Malaysia pulling crowd from all over the world gathered at SIC for this 3-day event. SIC is one of the longest and most challenging circuit of the season and no doubt it is one of the favourite among the riders and team. The 5.543km track has staged some all time classic races and provides fans with a unique experience on and off track.
