2021 Austrian Grand Prix
Beat: Sports 2021 Austrian Grand Prix Red Bull Ring Spielberg, 04.07.2021, 22:48 Time USPA NEWS - P2 and P4 for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team at the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix Valtteri completed a solid drive to take second place and maximise the points on offer for the second consecutive weekend. Lewis suffered damage at the Turn 10 kerbs and nursed the car home well for 30 laps lacking significant downforce. At the start of the race, Lewis and Valtteri had moved up to P3 and P4 respectively after a safety car restart on lap 4 saw PER drop 10 places when jostling with NOR for P2. NOR defended P2 well for 15 laps before Lewis could make the overtake. Valtteri then passed NOR at the pit stops and the team occupied P2 and P3 until Lewis suffered the effects of kerb damage at Turn 10, losing downforce. He was passed by Valtteri and NOR on lap 53. Lewis pitted soon after for fresh tyres and a wing adjustment to try and re-balance the car for the lost downforce but was forced to settle for P4. Max Verstappen (182 points) leads the Drivers’ Championship by 32 points from Lewis (150) and Sergio Perez in P3 (104), with Valtteri (92) in P5. Red Bull (286 points) lead the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team (242 points) by 44 points in the Constructors’ Championship. Valtteri Bottas For me personally, P2 one place better than last week and I started from fifth so not a bad afternoon. I think as a team we got some decent points considering the gap we have to Red Bull in terms of pure pace. -

Simtek Grand Prix was Born from Simtek Research Ltd, the name standing for Simulation Technology. The company founders were Nick Wirth and Max Mosley, Both of whom had serious pedigree within motorsport. Mosley had Been a team owner Before with March, and Wirth was a mechanical engineering student who was snapped up By March as an aerodynamicist, working underneath Adrian Newey. Days that Shook the F1 World – Ferrari Bargeboard Scandal Hello and welcome to the penultimate episode of the second series of Days that Shook the F1 World. We’ve looked at Big accidents, Big fines and Big changes, now it’s time to look at another Big day in F1’s history. Today we’re looking at 22nd OctoBer 1999. In 1999, Michael Schumacher Broke his leg and missed out on six races. It was oBvious his championship chances were gone, But teammate Eddie Irvine kept the Ferrari flag flying in his aBsence. By the time Schumacher returned, at the Malaysian Grand Prix, the title Battle was Between Irvine and Hakkinen in the McLaren. It was a tough race for the Woking Based team, with a couple of Bad strategy calls, and Hakkinen ended up third, standing on the podium Below two Ferrari drivers. Irvine took the win, with Schumacher doing everything he needed, But no more, to make it a 1‐2. It seemed as though the championship Battle would go right down to the wire at the final race in Japan, that is until the FIA got involved. Upon checking the Ferrari cars for legality, some questionaBle Bodywork was found. The team were called up for discussion, and Before the evening was out, Irvine and Schumacher had Been disqualified. Ferrari weren’t aBout to take this lying down and instantly appealed. The case would go Before the International Court of Appeal. In the intervening period, Both Irvine and Hakkinen spoke out against the penalty, despite the fact that Mika was provisionally World Champion. -

FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L' AUTOMOBILE 2017 FIA Formula One World Championship Malaysian Grand Prix Saturday Post-Qualifying Press Conference Transcript 30.09.2017 DRIVERS 1 – Lewis HAMILTON (Mercedes) 2 – Kimi RÄIKKÖNEN (Ferrari) 3 – Max VERSTAPPEN (Red Bull Racing) TRACK INTERVIEWS (conducted by Johnny Herbert) Lewis, what a great result for you. You must be very happy. That looked like a pretty decent lap? Lewis HAMILTON: Firstly, look at this crowd. I know it’s our last grand prix here but this is the best crowd I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much for all the support. We had no idea how it was going to go today. I’m sorry for whatever happened to Sebastian, because obviously he was very, very quick through practice. But somehow we turned it round. The engineers did such a great job yesterday, the car felt great, for both Valtteri and I, and so it’s a real surprise to be up here with these guys, so I’m very, very grateful. Kimi come and join us. What a try that was! Happy with that? I’m sure you wanted just a little bit more. I would have thought you would have done one of the old karting moves – jumping up and down in the seat, leaning forward. Maybe you should do that next time. Kimi RÄIKKÖNEN: Yeah, it’s OK, but obviously when you get that close it’s disappointing. I made the most out of it. Yes, there are always places you can improve, but you are never going to get it 100% perfect anywhere. -

Video 14 – Turkey Preview
Video 14 – Turkey Preview [Cut to Christine. ] Chris: Welcome to Sidepodcast TV , today we are previewing the Turkish Grand Prix. [Intro shots of Turkey. Cut to Christine. ] Chris: It’s not long since Toro Rosso announced their split with driver Scott Speed in favour of German Sebastian Vettel. Now the team have announced their second Sebastian signing, this time in the form of Bourdais, double Champ Car champion. He will replace Tonio Liuzzi for the 2008 season, in a move that Liuzzi describes as unsurprising. Relationships within the team have been strained for a while, so the decision to shake thing s up a bit for 2008 can only be a good thing. I wonder if McLaren will have to do something similar. [Cut to shots of Bourdais. Cut to Christine. ] Chris: Onto Turkey, then, it’s Formula 1’s third outing at the Istanbul Park Circuit, arguably one of the best from designer Herman Tilke. The track features the incredible Turn 8, that just seems to go on and on… but… I don’t want to spoil it for you. Here’s the lap in more detail. [Cut to Allianz animation.] Chris - Voiceover Although it’s still a relatively new track, the Istanbul Park Circuit has already become a firm favourite of both teams and fans alike. It still bears all the hallmarks of the Tilke design but there are some extra special bits thrown in to make it interesting, like the fact that the course runs anti -clockwise. This is the first of only two anti -clockwise tracks this year, which makes it a tough challenge for drivers. -
