To my friends and lovers of music, my heartfelt congratulations." -EMIL GILELS The University Musical Society has pro1ldly presented Mr. Gilels on three previous occasions­ recitals from this stage in 1962, 1966, and 1970.

Marilyn Horne, Soprano in recital Thursday, April 12 at 8:30, in Hill Auditorium We are privileged to present this celebrated American soprano in our 100th Choral Union Series, to replace Nicolai Ghiaurov, bass, who has cancelled his North American engagements this season. Concertgoers will remember Miss Horne's two stunning May Festival appearances in 1972 and 1976 with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra-her concert in April will be her first recital in Ann Arbor. All those who hold tickets for Ghiaurov should retain them for admission to the Horne recital. A few seats remain for single ticket sale, from $4 to $12.
