As part of a partnership with the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, the Alpina Gstaad set in the heart of Bernese Alps, will welcome four chefs from the award-winning five star property based on the pictoresque Lake Como. Executive Chef of Grand Hotel Tremezzo Osvaldo Presazzi with two Chefs de Partie of his brigade, Davide Somaschini and Roberto Nese and the Chef Antonio Ghilardi from the Marchesino Restaurant will prepare dishes from the restaurants of this five-star property set on the shores of Lake Como. A culinary advisor to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, the celebrated Gualtiero Marchesi has been cooking alongside Chef Presazzi. Maestro Marchesi, was the first Italian chef and the first non-French chef to receive three Michelin stars. Guests at The Alpina Gstaad may choose the six-course Menu Degustazione or opt for ordering a la carte among dishes such as salad of scallops, ginger and pink pepper, or one of the signature dishes signed by Gualtiero Marchesi, saffron risotto with gold leaf and filet of veal Rossini Gualtiero Marchesi style.     GSTAAD, SWITZERLAND Consider living in a vast alpine garden in summer or a glistening fairytale of white wonder in the winter. Gstaad is all that – once described by Sound of Music star Julie Andrews as “the last paradise in a crazy world.” Such sounds still ring true as old wealth given to such romantic notions as horse-drawn carriages clopping down cobbled streets as visitors pass in their furs and finery mix with a more grounded populace of happy-go-lucky youth in ski gear and affordable fashions. For decades it was the place to go for well-disguised paparazzi as it was known as a gathering spot for such icons as Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Roman Polanski, Formula1 star Bernie Ecclestone, fashion designer Valentino, Madonna, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek and a cavalcade of Bollywood faves. But the locals maintain, "People go to St. Moritz to be seen, and to Gstaad to enjoy themselves." Location of Gstaad On a map, you will find Gstaad in the southwest region of Switzerland, a two- to three- hour drive from Geneva or Zurich on the boundary between the Bernese Oberland and the Vaud Alpes.
