ARAGON, CALVO, JOUHANDEAU, 1944-45 Aparna Nayak-Guercio, PhD University of Pittsburgh, 2006 This dissertation focuses on the months of liberation of France, June 1944 to May 1945. It analyzes three under-studied works taken as samples of texts that touch upon the question of contested identities. The texts are chosen from the main divisions of the political spectrum, namely Gaullist, far right, and far left. Although the focus is on the texts themselves, I trace the arguments found in these works to the larger discourses in which they are inscribed. In particular, I address the questions of guilt and innocence, justice and vengeance, past and future in the given historical circumstances. -

ANDRÉ VOGUET Parcours d’un militant communiste (1937-1986) Conversation avec l’historien Claude Willard André Voguet, parcours d'un militant communiste (1937-1986) Conversation avec l'historien Claude Willard Bourrée d’anecdotes, de descriptions, de rencontres multiples, cette conver- sation avec André Voguet est passionnante. Préfacé par ses trois fils, ce récit raconte avec vérité, modestie et humour quelques étapes de la vie d’un jeune instituteur, d’un officier durant la “drôle de guerre”, d’un Résistant, d’un cadre du Parti communiste, d’un Elu de Paris. Sans langue de bois, ni fausse prétention. C’est un témoignage plaisant et précieux d’un communiste du XXème siècle, au moment où le Parti communiste fête ses 100 ans ! Conversation avec l’historien Claude Willard ANDRÉ VOGUET est né en 1913, à la veille de la première guerre mondiale et de la révolution russe de 1917. Il a, toute sa vie, été pro- fondément marqué par ces deux évènements qui ébranlent le monde. Ses parents habitent en Province. Son père, Gaston, est ouvrier, sa mère, Marie-Jeanne, bonne à tout faire. Gaston perd une jambe à la guerre. Il bénéficie d’un emploi réservé, et se retrouve concierge de lycées à Paris. -

Germaine Tillion… Raymonde Tillon-Nédelec et Charles Tillon En 2002, non sans humour, Germaine Tillion déclare que « Lasse d'être prise pour la femme de Charles Tillon, j’invitai celui-ci, et son authentique épouse1, dans ma maison de Bretagne, et, faisant fi du " i " différentiel, proclamai… notre cousinage ! » Eh oui ! Lassante, cette confusion entre Charles Tillon (1897-1993. Sans i !) et Germaine Tillion (1907-2008. Oui, avec son i) née à Allègre en 1907. Si le fan-club de Germaine Tillion, à Allègre, était lassé de la confusion entre Charles et Germaine, notre héroïne d’Allègre était, elle, lassée (mais avec humour !) d’être prise pour l’épouse de Charles. 1 Raymonde, ci-dessous. Bon sang, nous n’y avions pas pensé. Une confusion peut en cacher une autre. Effaçons la buée des lunettes qui empêchent certains de distinguer Germaine de Charles : Nous savons qui est Germaine (1907-2008), nous lui avons consacré assez de « couviges » et d’articles. Qui est Charles Tillon ? Chronologie. Charles Joseph Tillon naît à Rennes en 1897, d’un père conducteur de tramway, syndicaliste, et d’une mère qui tient un petit café à Rennes. Ajusteur à l'Arsenal en 1914, il est matelot-mécanicien en 1916, embarqué sur l’escorteur Guichen envoyé aider le tsar contre la révolution soviétique. Il prend pousse l’équipage dont il fait partie à se mutiner aux côtés des soviétiques. Arrêté, il est condamné à cinq ans de bagne. Libéré, il reprend son métier d’ajusteur et adhère au Parti Communiste en 1921. Membre de la CGTU il mène des grèves puis est élu au Conseil Municipal de Douarnenez. -

This thesis addresses a gap in the scholarly literature concerning both the structure of the movement and the contribution of women to the communist resistance. While women are now included in the majority of general histories, the historiography has tended to understate the participation of female resisters. Women, however, were extensively involved as members of the communist resistance movement. This thesis allows us to gain an understanding of women as key contributors to the functioning of resistance networks. This study argues that women were integral to the success of the communist resistance movement. Detailed investigation of female communist resisters enables us to develop a deeper understanding of the emergence of resistance and how it was sustained. -

Ministère des Familles, de l’Enfance et des Droits des femmes Direction générale de la cohésion sociale Service des droits des femmes et de l’égalité entre les femmes et les hommes Synthèse de l’actualité Du 21 juin au 25 juillet 2016 Action institutionnelle Délégation française à la 7e audition de la France par le CEDEF La ministre des Familles, de l’Enfance et des Droits des Femmes, a conduit la délégation française à la 7e audition de la France par le Comité de la Convention pour l’élimination des discriminations envers les femmes (CEDEF, CEDAW en anglais) de l’ONU, le 8 juillet à Genève. Laurence ROSSIGNOL, en répondant aux questions du Comité, a pu faire part de la mobilisation du Gouvernement pour les droits des femmes. En effet, depuis 2013, l’adoption de mesures législatives a fait progresser l’égalité professionnelle et a instauré la parité. Des lois récentes ont également consolidé l’accès aux droits et à la santé sexuelle reproductive. De plus, l’adoption de trois lois renforçant les dispositifs de lutte contre les violences et la mise en place de trois plans d’action témoignent d’une lutte sans relâche contre les violences faites aux femmes. Mais si les progrès sont indéniables, les avancées en matière de droits des femmes ne doivent pas être considérées comme définitivement acquises. Aussi, la Ministre a réaffirmé l’engagement du Gouvernement pour la pleine application de la Convention. Le Comité a rendu ses observations le 25 juillet. Il souligne le haut niveau de la délégation française, les nombreuses avancées réalisées en matière de droits des femmes, et identifie plusieurs axes d’amélioration qui feront l’objet d’un examen particulièrement attentif par la France.
