  • Surah Al-Anfal Tafsir – Nouman Ali Khan Lecture Notes
بسم هللا الرحمن الرحيم Surah Al-Anfal Tafsir – Nouman Ali Khan Lecture Notes Introduction and Verse 1 The introduction of this Surah is quite long but it is significant and very important to set the stage for what is about to follow. This is part of a series of surahs – Surah Anfal and Surah Taubah. This surah is related to the previous surah (Surah A’raf) in that they both talk about the ‘Sunnah of Allah’ (Sunnatillah). It talks about how Allah deals with similar Nations in the same way. It is mentioned in the Qur’an: [This is] the established way of Allah with those who passed on before; and you will not find in the way of Allah any change. [33:62] In the second half of Surah A’raf, Allah talks about the worldly destruction of nations and people that came before, specially the people of Musa and the destruction and drowning of Fir’awn and in Surah Anfal Allah will talk about the destruction of the people of Makkah (NOT the entire Arabian Peninsula). The Makkans here will be destroyed and defeated by the very swords of the believers – the army behind Rasulallah (s). It is not going to be fire from the skies, not a flood or an earthquake but the companions themselves. Part of the Sunnah of Allah is that punishments usually come down in two different forms: 1. Smaller punishments are sent as warnings before it is too late for example the nine signs of Musa(as) 2. Eventually the greater and major punishment is sent down for example the drowning of Fir’awn.

The Role Of The Women In Fighting The Enemies [Please note: Images may have been removed from this document. Page numbers have been added.] By the martyred Shaykh, Al-Hafith Yusuf Bin Salih Al-‘Uyayri (May Allah have Mercy upon him) Introduction In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful Verily all praise is due to Allah, and may the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and all of his companions. To proceed: My honoured sister, Indeed for you is an important and great role; and you must rise and fulfill your obligatory role in Islam 's confrontation of the new Crusade being waged by all the countries of the world against Islam and the Muslims. I will address you in these papers, and I will prolong this address due only to the importance of the topic; [a topic] that is in need of double these papers. So listen, may Allah protect and preserve you. The Muslim Ummah today is suffering from types of disgrace and humiliation that cannot be enumerated; [disgrace and humiliation] that it was not familiar with in its previous eras, and were never as widespread as they are today. And this disgrace and humiliation is not a result of the smallness of the Islamic Ummah or its poverty - it is counted as the largest Ummah today, just as it is the only Ummah that possesses the riches and elements that its enemies do not possess. And the question that presents itself is: what is the reason for this disgrace and humiliation that the Ummah suffers from today, when it is not in need of money or men? We say that

  • Reflections on the Joachim and Petra Heidrich Papers in the Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient Arch
THEMATISCHERessource Titel/Title: Urdu books and pamphlets in the Ahmadiyya Mosque, Berlin Jahr/Year: 2021 Erstellt von/ Razak Khan Compiled by: Quellen/ Landesarchiv Berlin Sources: Beschreibung The list contains the Urdu books and pamphlets found in the library and /Description: storage room of the historic Ahmadiyya mosque, Berlin, during spring of 2019. There exist various writings on the history of the mosque and its famous converts to Islam. However, these writings rely on German sources without considering the rich vernacular Urdu archives of books published and circulated by South Asian Ahmadis. Apart from the mosque’s own German journal Muslimsche Revue started in 1929, there are also copies of Islamic Review published in English from London and Review of Religions started by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in 1902. The English magazine was printed in Lahore and also published from Qadian, Punjab, alongside an Urdu edition. Many of these publications in Urdu were also sent to the Mosque in Berlin. Thus, connection across national and language boundaries appears an essential aspect of these Urdu books and pamphlets. While attention has been paid to German archives, this list documents and highlights the value of Urdu materials found in the mosque collection. Although in vernacular language, these writings represent a global History of Ahmadiyya Islam between South Asia, Africa and Europe. A study of these pamphlet titles and contents reveals the archives of Annual reports published by Ahmadiyya Anjuman-e-Isha’at-e-Islam, Lahore documenting the association's activities. There is also an Urdu translation of the landmark Ahmadiyya Are Muslims. The Verdict of the Supreme Court of South Africa, 9.8.1986.

It is the time of the revival and rejuvenation of Islam. It is that period when Allah Almighty would establish and prove the pre-eminence of Islam over all other religions. We Ahmadis, with the Grace of Almighty Allah, hold firm to this belief that Allah Almighty from every single perspective and angle is proving the superiority of Islam over all other religions. In particular (this is true in) the manner in which the Jama’at is standing firm against the Christian doctrine of attributing divinity to man, based on reasoning and logical arguments that the Promised Messiah (as) has provided and explained to us, along with those heavenly and divine supports and succour that Allah Almighty is demonstrating for us at every moment. There is no other Muslim group or sect, which in comparison to this work we are carrying out, is performing it to a fraction and nor is it possible for them to, because this task in this era, Allah Almighty was to ascertain and acquire from the Promised Messiah(as) and his Jama’at and he is ascertaining this work from the Jama’at of the Promised Messiah(as).

  • “Sacrifice” Among Ahmadi Women1
Abstract In the world of religion, sacrifice is believed as a form of devotion toward the deities. Some theories suggest that every religion has its own system as well as function of sacrifice. Therefore, sacrifice cannot be perceived to have a singular meaning. This research focuses on the sacrifice practiced by the Ahmadiyah community, which is a controversial sect within Islam. By looking at the Ahmadi women in Indonesia, this study attempts to find out how women use sacrifice as an expression of agency. Instead of being victims or objects of sacrifice, women can, in fact, play a significant role in resisting discrimination against them by their male-dominated organization through sacrifice. Keywords: Ahmadi women, sacrifice, agency, Ahmadiyah 1This paper was presented at the Singapore Graduate Forum of Southeast Asian Students at National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore, held on July 28-29, 2007, as the Asian Graduate Student Fellowships National University of Singapore (NUS).
