AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BERKELEY GROUP The Berkeley Group builds homes and neighbourhoods. We create beautiful, successful places. We work together with other people to tackle the shortage of good quality homes; and we make a lasting contribution to the landscape and to the communities we help create. Highwood, Horsham FOR EVERYONE

Berkeley builds for everyone: from families to first time buyers, luxury living and affordable housing, and homes that provide extra care for older people. Our developments range in size from a few dozen homes in a market town to complex regeneration programmes with over 5,000 homes. We build schools, stations, shops and play areas, alongside a complete mix of housing, from riverside apartments to traditional homes designed in the local vernacular. Beaufort Park

OUR VALUES

The core values that underpin Berkeley remain unchanged from its early days. These are a passion for great places, having integrity, showing respect for people, thinking creatively and achieving excellence through detail. This culture informs the way we work, the way we lead the business, and what we deliver to our customers. We focus just as hard on the way we work as the homes we deliver.

375 Kensington High Street WHERE WE WORK The Berkeley Group operates across London, Birmingham and the South of England. We work through six autonomous brands: St George, St James, Berkeley, St Edward, St William and St Joseph. Part of our success has come from strategic partnerships and joint ventures with organisations such as the Prudential and National Grid, as well as local authorities.

Computer generated image, indicative only. REGENERATION LONDON DOCK In the 18th century, this 15 acre site lay at the heart of London’s docklands. It is now being transformed into a new neighbourhood with 1,800 homes, 486 of which will be affordable, set within a series of landscaped public squares and gardens containing cafés and shops. We have collaborated with Bow Arts to create studios in the listed Pennington Street Warehouse, which are being used by almost 100 artists and makers. A development by HERITAGE ST JOSEPH’S GATE The award-winning Grade II listed chapel and seminary college at Mill Hill was originally conceived by Cardinal Vaughan 150 years ago. This is now the centrepiece of 49 new and converted homes at our St Joseph’s Gate development in north London. The Chapel itself has been transformed into an 8,000 sq ft home with vaulted ceilings and views looking across the village below.

INTRODUCING ST JOSEPH St Joseph is Berkeley’s newest brand, created to bring our passion for quality and placemaking to Birmingham and the West Midlands. We plan to build beautiful homes and create communities that work for everyone. These will range from traditional housing to complex mixed use and city centre developments. Our name was inspired by the civic improvements delivered by Birmingham’s 19th century mayor, Joseph Chamberlain. We share his belief that an inspiring public realm is the cornerstone of a happy, thriving community and our commitment to delivering the best for local people will lie at the heart of everything we do. FINDING FRESH SOLUTIONS: THE URBAN HOUSE How do we build the type of homes that people love in the kind of numbers that could solve the housing crisis? The Berkeley Urban House in Kidbrooke Village provides a flexible 3 to 4 bedroom home which is full of light and economical to run, with a roof top garden and space for a car and two bikes. It can also be built off-site in a factory and constructed in just 10 weeks. A development by

NEW CONNECTIONS

Berkeley developments provide a whole range of amenities and services alongside the homes that we build. These include parks, healthcare and leisure facilities. Many sites enhance local transport provision. At Royal Arsenal we are delivering a station, and at Imperial Wharf we provided an entire new Overground station. BERKELEY FOUNDATION

The Berkeley Foundation was established in March 2011 to support young people and their communities. Since then, it has committed more than £12 million to more than 100 charities and worthy causes. These range from in-depth strategic partnerships with programmes like The Money House and Street Elite and charities like Crisis and the Lord’s Taverners, to smaller scale partnerships with the local designated charities chosen by staff in our offices and sites. Our goal is that every employee across the whole company does something every year to support the Foundation. www.berkeleyfoundation.org.uk
