Having to turn away investigators wanting to attend our school from lack of space, we have outgrown our former training venue in Park City. To better accommodate you and your department we have moved our school to the Wasatch Front in a bigger and better training room. With Cabela’s and Scheels Sporting Goods, Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, Rio-Tinto Stadium, along with a multitude of shopping and entertainment venues and restaurants, and located immediately off I15, just minutes from Downtown Salt Lake you’ll find plenty to do in Sandy and surrounding areas.

Back by Popular Demand, Joe Kennedy was a Special Agent with NCIS for 25 years. He was the Primary Architect and First Program Manager for the internationally acclaimed NCIS Cold Case Homicide Unit. He wrote the methodology and protocol for NCIS Cold Case investigations, which has been adopted by numerous police agencies around the globe. Joe has provided cold case homicide consultation and training to enforcement agencies throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He was recently profiled in "Delayed Justice – America's Best Cold Case Investigators. Joe presented for one day in 2017 at our Homicide School. Evaluations overwhelmingly requested he come back for more. One day just wasn’t enough to share his experience and expertise. His evaluations were scored the highest of any instructor ever involved with our schools

Lee Mellor is an author, profiler, criminologist, CEO, and musician based out of Toronto. His books, the national bestseller "Cold North Killers: Canadian Serial " and "Rampage: Canadian and Spree Killing" focus on the under-explored topic of multicide. Mellor's academic works include "Homicide: A Forensic Psychology Casebook", "Understanding : A Global Multidisciplinary Approach", and two chapters on literary criminology for "The Criminal Humanities: An Introduction". Mellor has consulted with police investigators on unsolved in London, , , Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Missouri, You will learn from Lee, in two days, the multi-faceted and disturbing motivations of sexually based , how often it is overlooked, and how to recognize the subtle signs in your next investigation. You will learn of various social media outlets, most you’ve probably never heard of, the dark web, and how offenders locate and cull people for their next victim. You will learn about the aspect of “sugar babies/sugar daddies” fetishes, BDSM, Alternative Lifestyle, and “meet up” sites that are very common and active in our community and how being aware of these sites will assist you in your investigation.

In May 2017 the body of Jchandra Brown was found in Payson Canyon by hunters. Initially it was a clear case of . However investigators soon learned that the 16-year-old was assisted in her death by a neighbor boy. He not only researched hanging, purchased items such as a rope and chemicals, took her to the location but also filmed the death. He then bragged to his friends. Tyrell Przybycien’s arrest sparked case law in Utah of new assisted suicide meant to prosecute and convict suspects of such . Presenters in this case will be the lead investigators from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office and Utah County Prosecutors involved with the prosecution and conviction of this 18 year old suspect.

December 4, 2016, Thirty-Nine year old SueAnn Sands was murdered by her ex-boyfriend while taking a break from her job in a Shopping center. Sands had a protective order in place against the suspect at the time of her murder which had been violated on multiple occasions. You will hear from investigators how the suspect murdered SueAnn in her vehicle after a pursuit through the shopping center and movie theater parking lot, crowded with Christmas shoppers. You will hear Sueann's frantic call to 911 and the aftermath of this domestic violence homicide, the pursuit, cumulating in an officer- involved shooting, eliminating the threat of further injuries and deaths, along with the subsequent investigation. You will hear from the investigators in the case and the aftermath in the American Fork Police Department.
