Seed regional bracket on KSHSAA website. Submit bracket online and provide to all participating schools and media. Notify officials at least four days in advance of the tournament of starting times, etc. Notify participating schools of the policy concerning team ticket allowance - adult student supervisors, principals, ath- letic directors and superintendents (use proper form from the online Entry Forms); team warm-up allowance, towels, care of valuables, leaving of equipment, pep club area assignments, etc. Appoint scorer, scoreboard operator and one public address person; pitch count tracker for baseball. Assign personnel to assist in administering tournament. Arrange for the playing of the national anthem. Provide a private dressing room and adult security personnel for game umpires. Contact umpires, tell them where to park, where to dress and assign someone to meet them. Provide reserved parking for umpires and school buses. Assign a host or hostess to the umpires and each team. Post signs to reserve areas for participating schools’ followers, if applicable. Provide a special entrance and a checklist for authorized superintendents, principals, athletic directors, players, man- agers, coaches, adult supervisors, cheerleaders and news media. Assign security personnel to the field to escort umpires. Arrange for plaque/trophy presentation at conclusion of tournament. Submit to KSHSAA a "Financial Report." Submit to KSHSAA a "Ticket Sales Report." Return unused tickets to KSHSAA. Email or phone regional results to the KSHSAA following each tournament game. No doubt numerous questions will arise during the course of the season, and we believe many of your questions will be answered by a thorough review of the contents of this manual. This publication contains information that applies to all baseball and softball games. Certain sections specifically apply to regional and state tournaments. It is divided into five sections: Section I - General Information - Game Administration Section II - Baseball Regulations Section III - Softball Regulations Section IV - Regional Tournament Information Section V - State Tournament Information Section VI - Tickets & Admissions for Regional & State Tournaments An Index is provided as an aid to finding answers to your questions.     GUIDANCE FOR OPENING UP HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Sports Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC) The COVID-19 pandemic presents state high school associations with a myriad of challenges. The NFHS Sports Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC) offers this document as guidance on how state associations can consider approaching the many components of “opening up” high school athletics and activities across the United States. The NFHS SMAC believes it is essential to the physical and mental well-being of high school students across the nation to return to physical activity and athletic competition. The NFHS SMAC recognizes that it is likely that ALL students will not be able to return to – and sustain – athletic activity at the same time in all schools, regions and states. There will also likely be variation in what sports and activities are allowed to be played and held. While we would typically have reservations regarding such inequities, the NFHS SMAC endorses the idea of returning students to school-based athletics and activities in any and all situations where it can be done safely. Since NFHS member state associations are a well-respected voice for health and safety issues, the NFHS SMAC strongly urges that these organizations engage with state and local health departments to develop policy regarding coordinated approaches for return to activity for high school, club and youth sports. The recommendations presented in this document are intended as ideas for state associations to consider with their respective SMACs and other stakeholders in designing return-to-activity guidelines that will be in accordance with state or local restrictions.

A team may play with a minimum of eight (8) players. A team must start play with 8 players present. Players arriving late may be added to the bottom of the batting order at any time. 2. Game balls will be provided. Both teams must play with the provided game balls. Bats will be provided by the Intramural Program for use during all Intramural games. Only provided bats will be permitted for use during the game. Participants may NOT use their own bats. Any glove or mitt is permitted. Protective masks for the catcher will be available if players choose to wear them. Sandals or bare feet are not permitted. Metal cleats are not permitted. 3. All games will be played through 7 innings or 50 minutes - whichever comes first. 4. Each team must provide a scorekeeper for their team. The scorekeeper should notify the umpire at the start of each half inning of the first batter's name. 5. A 7-run limit per inning will be in effect. Once the 7th run legally crosses the plate, the ball will become dead and the inning will be over. The On-Deck batter will bat first in the next inning. The 7-run per inning rule will be LIFTED for the last inning of the game 6. Unlimited substitutions are permitted at each position in the batting order. Player A & B may "share" a spot in the batting order - either may bat or either may play the field, but may not play in the field at the same time.

    2020-2021 GENERAL SPORTS REGULATIONS OHSAA SPORTS REGULATIONS Introduction Article 5-6-1 of the Constitution grants authority to the Board of Directors to determine the contest rules and regulations for each sport. The Board of Directors has adopted the following playing rules and contest regulations effective August 1, 2020, except as specified within this section. The Executive Director is authorized to modify these regulations when it is deemed necessary by the Executive Director, subject to ratification by the Board of Directors. These regulations apply to all interscholastic teams and contests, including but not limited to varsity, junior varsity, reserve, junior, sophomore, freshman and 7th & 8th grade teams. For additional regulations specifically for grades 7 and 8, see General Sports Regulation 32. GENERAL REGULATIONS 1.
