Borecka Historical Note Główna Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Main Commission for the Investigation of Crimes against the Polish Nation), was established in 1945 and operated under the Polish Ministry of Justice. The purpose of the Main Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes in Poland was investigating the crimes committed by the Nazis on Polish soil and other occupied countries, and in Germany during the period 1939-1945. The Main Commission collected documentation, conducted investigations and prepared indictments, and publications. The Main Commission prepared investigations of all lawsuits against the Nazis, judged by the Supreme National Tribunal in Poland. Currently the Main Commission is a part of the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej–Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Institute of National Remembrance-Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation). 2 Scope and Content of Collection This collection contains investigation case files concerning labor camps for Jews, the murder of individual Jews, and the mass execution of Jews inside and outside the camps in various districts of the Poznań region. This documentation was collected by the Główna Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Main Commission for the Investigation of Crimes against the Polish Nation). System of Arrangement Records are arranged in the original order of their acquisition from the source archive.     From the Abyss: Memories from the Camp (Z otchłani: Wspomnienia z lagru) Author: Zofia Kossak First Published: 1946 Translations: Italian (Il campo della morte, 1947); French (Du fond de l’abime, Seigneur, 1951). About the Author: Zofia Kossak (1889–1968) was a Polish Catholic writer dealing mainly with Catholic subjects. During World War II she lived in Warsaw, working for the Polish underground resistance organisation. She was the co-founder of the Catho- lic underground organisation Front for the Rebirth of Poland (Front Odrodzenia Polski) and initiator of the Council to Aid Jews Żegota. On 25 September 1943, she was arrested under the false name Zofia Śliwińska and held captive in the local Pawiak prison. From 5 October 1943 until 12 April 1944 she was imprisoned in the Auschwitz- Birkenau concentration camp. When Nazis discovered her true identity, she was sen- tenced to death, but released through the efforts of the leaders of the underground re- sistance. Kossak lived in England after the war, returning to Poland in 1957. In 1985 she was awarded the honorary title “Righteous Among the Nations” for her involve- ment in Żegota.     Miranda Walston Witnessing Extermination: Using Diaries to Understand the Final Solution in Poland Honours Thesis By: Miranda Walston Supervisor: Dr. Lauren Rossi 1 Miranda Walston Introduction The Holocaust spanned multiple years and states, occurring in both German-occupied countries and those of their collaborators. But in no one state were the actions of the Holocaust felt more intensely than in Poland. It was in Poland that the Nazis constructed and ran their four death camps– Treblinka, Sobibor, Chelmno, and Belzec – and created combination camps that both concentrated people for labour, and exterminated them – Auschwitz and Majdanek.1 Chelmno was the first of the death camps, established in 1941, while Treblinka, Sobibor, and Belzec were created during Operation Reinhard in 1942.2 In Poland, the Nazis concentrated many of the Jews from countries they had conquered during the war. As the major killing centers of the “Final Solution” were located within Poland, when did people in Poland become aware of the level of death and destruction perpetrated by the Nazi regime? While scholars have attributed dates to the “Final Solution,” predominantly starting in 1942, when did the people of Poland notice the shift in the treatment of Jews from relocation towards physical elimination using gas chambers? Or did they remain unaware of such events? To answer these questions, I have researched the writings of various people who were in Poland at the time of the “Final Solution.” I am specifically addressing the information found in diaries and memoirs. Given language barriers, this thesis will focus only on diaries and memoirs that were written in English or later translated and published in English.3 This thesis addresses twenty diaries and memoirs from people who were living in Poland at the time of the “Final Solution.” Most of these diaries (fifteen of twenty) were written by members of the intelligentsia.

    Ocena obszarowa jakości wody do spożycia w 2014r. dla powiatu skierniewickiego. Na podstawie § 17 rozporządzenia Ministra Zdrowia z dnia 29 marca 2007r. w sprawie jakości wody przeznaczonej do spożycia przez ludzi (Dz. U z 2007r. Nr 61, poz. 417 z późn. zm.), ocen okresowych (rocznych) jakości wody w poszczególnych wodociągach oraz ocen obszarowych sporządzonych dla poszczególnych gmin Państwowy Powiatowy Inspektor Sanitarny w Skierniewicach przedstawia ocenę obszarową jakości wody do spożycia w 2014r. dla Powiatu skierniewickiego. 1. Producenci i odbiorcy wody W 2014r. na terenie Powiatu skierniewickiego funkcjonowało 28 komunalnych wodociągów zaopatrzenia zbiorowego z ujęciami na tym terenie oraz użytkowane były dodatkowo fragmenty sieci 2 wodociągów posiadających ujęcia i stacje uzdatniania na terenach sąsiednich (Miasto Skierniewice, Gmina Jeżów). Mieszkańcom osiedla przy siedzibie Nadleśnictwa Skierniewice w Makowie-Zwierzyńcu wodę dostarczał również wodociąg lokalny. Ogółem zaopatrywały one wg danych przekazanych przez urzędy gmin ponad 36 tys. osób co stanowi ok. 96% mieszkańców powiatu. Szczegóły przedstawiono w załączonej tabeli. 2. Jakość wody Dwa wodociągi (Bolimów, Dębowa Góra Gm. Skierniewice) podawały okresowo wodę o obniżonej jakości fizykochemicznej ze względu na podwyższony poziom w pierwszym przypadku azotu amonowego, w drugim żelaza i manganu. W trzech wodociągach (Bolimów, Kolonia Wola Szydłowiecka Gm. Bolimów i Wola Drzewiecka Gm. Lipce R.) stwierdzono zanieczyszczenia bakteriologiczne wody. Wola Drzewiecka podawała wodę na zasadzie warunkowej przydatności do spożycia . Mieszkańcy Gm. Bolimów byli przełączani na zasilanie z innego ujęcia o dobrej jakości. Prowadzone postępowanie wykazało, że zanieczyszczenia bakteriologiczne rozpoczynały się od studni. Dla wszystkich w/w przypadków uzyskano poprawę. W odniesieniu do zanieczyszczeń fizykochemicznych poprzez podniesienie efektywności pracy urządzeń uzdatniających, przy zanieczyszczeniach bakteriologicznych poprzez okresową dezynfekcję wody i płukania sieci.

    Obszarowa ocena jakości wody w wodociągach województwa łódzkiego za 2018 r. Łódzki Państwowy Wojewódzki Inspektor Sanitarny dr n. med. Urszula Sztuka-Polińska Obszarowa ocena jakości wody przeznaczonej do spożycia na terenie woj. łódzkiego w 2018 r. Ustawowy nadzór nad jakością wody przeznaczonej do spożycia przez ludzi sprawowany jest przez organy Państwowej Inspekcji Sanitarnej na mocy art. 12 ust. 1 ustawy z dnia 7 czerwca 2001 r. o zbiorowym zaopatrzeniu w wodę i zbiorowym odprowadzaniu ścieków (Dz. U z 2018 r., poz. 1152 z późn. zm.). Jest on realizowany na terenie województwa łódzkiego przez 21 Państwowych Powiatowych In- spektorów Sanitarnych oraz Łódzkiego Państwowego Wojewódzkiego Inspektora Sanitarnego. Podstawę oceny jakości wody przeznaczonej do spożycia w 2018 r. stanowiły wymagania okre- ślone w rozporządzenia Ministra Zdrowia z dnia 7 grudnia 2017 r. w sprawie jakości wody przezna- czonej do spożycia przez ludzi (Dz. U. z 2017 r., poz. 2294) – normy jakości wody stanowią załączniki nr 1 oraz nr 4. Ocenę obszarową opracowano zgodnie z § 23 powyższego rozporządzenia. Ocena urządzeń wodociągowych zaopatrujących mieszkańców woj. łódzkiego w wodę przezna- czonej do spożycia w 2018 r. Wodociągi w województwie łódzkim zaopatrywane są w wodę z ujęć podziemnych oraz jednego powierzchniowego, zlokalizowanego w Tomaszowie Mazowieckim na rzece Pilicy. Ujęcie to zasila wodociąg zaopatrujący w wodę mieszkańców Tomaszowa Mazowieckiego oraz częściowo wodociąg zaopatrujący miejscowość Rokiciny Kolonia (zasilana w wodę mieszaną z ujęcia powierzchniowego i ujęć głębinowych) w powiecie tomaszowskim.
