GAUGE:
13 stitches + 26 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in Garter stitch (k every row). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. SCARF With A, cast on 22 stitches. Slip the first stitch as to knit at the beginning of each row. Work even in Garter Stitch until piece measures 30" or you run out of yarn.
Continue with B. Work even in Garter Stitch until piece measures 60" or you have 1½ yds of yarn left. Bind off. Weave in loose ends.
