Egyptian Gods and Goddesses

Goddess of the Home: She was credited for teaching the crafts of spinning, Ra weaving and other household skills. She was also mourner and protector of the dead.

God of Life: He was a weakling child, but grew up to be a full grown warrior god, Osiris who attacked and defeated Set. God of the Dead: He was Osiris's second son. His job was to prepare the dead for their journey to eternal life, conduct funerals and accompany them to their tombs.

God of Desert: He was the god of the desert. He had red, flaming eyes and red Set hair. Red was the color of evil to the ancient Egyptians.

God of all Creation: In Lower Egypt - the sun god- was the most powerful god in the universe. He sailed through the sky in a boat. When He sailed under the world, the darkness of night followed, but Ra always returned. God of Underworld This god traveled throughout Egypt teaching the people how to farm and build cities and temples. He civilized Egypt. He married his sister and was murdered by his jealous brother, Set. He was brought back to life, but preferred to return to the world of the dead.
