The college crest embodies a cross to symbolize the redemptive work of Christ, an open Bible for the world, a flame representing the Holy Spirit, and a maple leaf to represent Canada. The Greek motto means “Competency through Christ.” The college colours are: red, gold and sky- blue. Red speaks of the blood of Christ, gold of His deity, and blue of the heavenly destiny of God's people. Coats Director of Distance Education Thank you for your interest in taking courses through the Distance Education department of Summit Pacific College. Our program and course offerings in this catalogue are currently delivered in a Correspondence Course modality. However, a process of transitioning courses to an online delivery system is underway. Some courses will be available through the Canvas platform in September 2021 (see next page for more detail). Summit offers a variety of options for students who are unable to attend our campus in Abbotsford. We trust that you will find a program that will help you towards your ministry training aspirations, or courses that will address your current interests. Summit desires to share the expertise of its faculty through alternative academic patterns which will provide education, equipping and enrichment to students for ministry in the church and local communities. In this way we hope to provide training enhancement for those who are currently working or interested in continuing their academic interests. We look forward to serving you. Dr. C. A. Coats Note to Pastors: There are a variety of options available for Pastors who are looking for ways to enhance the training and leadership development programs in their church. We would be happy to help facilitate study groups or extension courses in partnership with churches by sharing course materials. Feel free to make inquiries or suggestions. Callers are reminded that the office location is on Canada’s West Coast in the Pacific time zone. Office hours are weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00
