On the eve of the Berlin Agriculture Ministers‘ Summit and under the theme: “The Future of Food and Farming: Challenges and Opportunities” we welcome the opportunity to discuss current and future-oriented issues of food security. By 2050, 2 billion people will need to be supplied with more food, according to current estimates. For this, the agricultural production has to be increased by around 70% according to the FAO. Based on general assessment, this goal can be achieved if the necessary investments are being made in increasing productivity in food production worldwide.
