With the founding of the Society in 1976 the decision was made to publish in the Journal of the Society, Current Literature references on Palaearctic Lepidoptera. Initially it was hoped that one Lepidopterist from each country would be Willing to record the literature published in the Journals of his own country. It has not been easy, nor indeed possible to find volunteers for a complete coverage for 1977. However, recording did not commence until late 1977, and the response from those who have helped has been excellent. The list of recorders is growing, and hopefully we shall soon have a complete coverage. It must be emphasised that the final list of papers published de- pends entirely on recorders Willing to give a little of their time to searching Journals. A list of recorders is given here, and help is solicited for any coun- try absent from the list. Unfortunately some recorders listed below have not sent in their 1977 report. Ill, Folge 1, September 1987, Würzburg, ISSN 0171-4090 Notes on Eupithecia (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) by A. M. Vojnits Abstract Eupithecia silenicolata zengoeensis Fazekas, 1979 = the nominotypical species. Eupithecia inveterata nom. nov. for £ trita Vojnits, 1977 (secondary homonym, nec E. trita Turati, 1926). The separation as a subspecies of the Central European po pulations of Eupithecia sinuosaria Ev., an actively spreading species, is unrealistic. The paleozoographic analysis of most Eupithecia species rest on insufficient fun- dations. 1. Eupithecia silenicolata zengoeensis Fazekas, 1979 syn. nov. Linnaeana Bel- gica, 11: 406-411, figs. 1-4. Eupithecia silenicolata silenicolata Mabille, 1866 Ann. S. Fr., p. 562. Subspecific name. The Author named the new taxon after highest point in the Mec- sek Mountains, the 682 meters high Mount Zengo, mentioning that this place is the typical location of the subspecies. Following this he stated that the subspecies lives at altitudes between 200-350 m. These areas are entirely different from those of Mount Zengo and its environs, if a taxonomical name is given to a taxon, it should not be misleading under any circumstances. Diagnosis. Of the nine specimens which served as the basis for the description, one is in more or less good condition, one is slightly and the other seven are heavily worn. -

Landeskde. naturwiss. Mitt. -

A Magyar Természettudományi Múzeum Kárpát-medencei Eupitheciini-gyűjteményét újra rendeztük. A régebbi törzsgyűjteményből és a beosztatlan anyagból összesen 81 faj 16571 példá- nya került elő, melyek mindegyikét meghatároztuk vagy határozását ellenőriztük, egyedi katalógus- számmal láttuk el, és adataikat adatbázisban rögzítettük. Külön felsoroljuk a példányok gyűjtőit. A tételes lelőhelyadatokat közöljük, továbbá minden faj lelőhelyeit ponttérképeken is ábrázoljuk. Rövid, határozást segítő diagnózist adunk mindegyik fajhoz, továbbá hivatkozunk a főbb magyar nyelvű ösz- szefoglaló faunisztikai művekben, illetve határozókönyvekben történő említésükre. Áttekintjük a mú- zeum gyűjteményében őrzött típuspéldányokat (13 taxon 54 példánya).

Michael Fibiger 1945 - 2011
Esperiana Band 16: 7-38 Schwanfeld, 06. Dezember 2011 ISBN 978-3-938249-01-7 Michael FIBIGER 1945 - 2011 Our dear friend and colleague, Michael FIBIGER, died on 16 February, 2011, peacefully and in the presence of the closest members of his family. For close on 18 months he had battled heroically and with characteristic determination against a particularly unpleasant form of cancer, and continued with his writing and research until close to the end. Michael was born on 29 June, 1945, in Hellerup, a suburb of Copenhagen, and began catching moths at the age of nine, particularly in the vicinity of the summer house where they stayed on the north coast of Zealand. By the time he was 11, he wanted to join the Danish Lepidoptera Society but was told he was too young and must wait “a couple of years”. So, exactly two years later he applied again and was accepted – as the youngest-ever Member of the Society. Michael always knew he wanted to be a teacher, and between 1965 and 1970 he attended training college at Hel- lerup Seminarium. Having graduated, he taught Danish, Biology and Special Education at Gentofte School until 1973. In the meantime, he studied Clinical Psychology at the University of Copenhagen from 1970 to 1976, and from 1973 to 1981 he became School Psychologist for elementary schools and high schools in the municipality of Gentofte, work which involved investigation and testing of children with psychiatric problems, counselling, supervi- sion and therapy. He was also an instructor in drug prevention for the Ministry of Education.
