A total of 55 sample plots were studied. Phytosociological data, obtained from sampe plots, were classified according to the Barun Balnquet method. And also sample plots were ordinated with Detrended Correspondance Analysis (DCA) and classified with two-way indicator species analysis (TWINSPAN). The results indicated that three bryosociological unit were determined from the forests. These; Neckeretum crispae, Anomodonto viticulosi-Leucodontetum sciuroidis and, Orthotricho straminei-Pterigynandretum filiformis. Amanog them Neckeretum crispae was reported for the first time from Turkey. Key Words: Bryophyte, Epiphyte, Vegetation, Zonguldak, Turkey Introduction Bryophytes are a conspicuous and ecologically significant component of mountain forests, and grows on various substrates such as soil, rocks, living and dead trunks, branches. Nevertheless, studies of bryophyte communities from Turkey are lacking, although several studies on bryo-sociology have been carried out with successfully in Turkey as well as bryofloristic studies (Alataş et al. 2017; Alataş and Uyar 2017; Ezer 2017; Can Gözcü et al. 2018; Alataş 2018; Alataş et al. 2019). No study to classify the bryophyte vegetation of the Beldibi and Babadağ forests were made until now. The aim of this study was to reveal the epiphytic bryophyte vegetation of Beldibi and Babadağ forests using DCA and TWINSPAN multivariate analysis techniques as well as Braun-Blanquet method in nortwest Turkey. Neckeretum crispae which was reported for the first time from Turkey with the present paper, brings the total to 47 the number of epiphytic bryophyte syntaxa known from Turkey. Even so, further studies on this topic will be needed to determine and real composition and structure of the Turkish bryophyte vegetation. Material and Methods Study area Beldibi and Babadağ forests (Zonguldak, Devrek), located in A2 grid-square according to the Henderson (1961), are located in Euxine zone of Euro-Siberian phytogeographic region (Anşin 1983). The study area, situated in the Western Black Sea Region, is located within the borders of Zonguldak province. There are Karabük district to the east of the study area, Ereğli district to the west, Zonguldak to the north, Bolu and Düzce provinces to the South (Fig. 1). Since the mountains in Zonguldak are 205 Eurasian Journal of Forest Science – Epiphytic bryophyte vegetation of Beldibi by Alataş et al. 2019 parallel to the coast, the climate from the coast to the inner part shows significant changes. Depending on these climate changes, different vegetation types such as Oceanic, Mediterranean and Sub- Mediterranean are seen from the north to the south of the area (Güvenç et al. 2009). The average precipitation is 902 mm and the average annual temperature is 13.9 ºC in the study area. The hottest month of the year is July and the coldest month is January (URL,1). The annual precipitation regime of the study area is KSII. This situation indicates that the study area has a oceanic climate and it is located in a transitional zone of the sub-mediterranean bioclimatic region (Akman 2011). The Black Sea

Munis Entomology & Zoology, 7 (2): 732-741] ABSTRACT: On the basis of lepidopterous larvae a total of 96 species on Quercus dalechampii and 58 species on Q. cerris were recorded in 10 study plots of Malé Karpaty and Trnavská pahorkatina hills. The families Geometridae, Noctuidae and Tortricidae encompassed the highest number of found species. The most recorded species belonged to the trophic group of generalists. On the basis of total abundance of lepidopterous larvae found on Q. dalechampii from all the study plots the most abundant species was evidently Operophtera brumata. The most abundant species on Q. cerris was Cyclophora ruficiliaria. Based on estimated oak leaf area consumed by a larva it is shown that Lymantria dispar was the most important leaf-chewing species of both Q. dalechampii and Q. cerris. About 300 Lepidoptera species are known to damage the assimilation tissue of oaks in Central Europe (Patočka, 1954, 1980; Patočka et al.1999; Reiprich, 2001). The study area is located within the borders of the Eastern Black Sea Mountains and is one of the 122 important plant areas in Turkey. The investigation of epiphytic bryophyte communities was carried out in 2016 during different vegetation periods according to Braun-Blanquet’s phytosociological methodology. Phytosociological data obtained from 65 relevés were ordinated using detrended correspondence analysis (DECORANA) and classified using two-way indicator species analysis (TWINSPAN). Consequently, six epiphytic bryophyte communities new to Turkey were determined with TWINSPAN and DECORANA: Leucobryo-Tetraphidetum pellucidae, Anomodonto attenuati-Neckeretum crispae, Frullanio tamarisci-Exsertothecetum crispae, Ulotetum crispae, Anomodonto attenuati-Neckeretum crispae-leucodontetosum sciuroidis, and Ulotetum crispae-isothecietosum alopecuroidis. Abstract The Australasian genus Scotocyma Turner is revised, containing the species S. albinotata (Walker), S. legalis (Warren), S. asiatica Holloway, S. scotopepla Prout, stat. n., S. manusensis Prout, stat. n., S. mimula (Warren), stat. n. and S. miscix Prout. Scotocyma euryochra Turner, syn. n., S. idioschema Turner, syn. n., S. ischnophrica Turner, syn. n. and S. transfixa Turner, syn. n. are regarded as synonyms of S. albinotata. Four species are described as new: S. samoensis, sp. n., S. sumatrensis, sp. n., S. rutilimixta, sp. n. and S. longiuncus, sp. n. Lectotypes are designated for S. scotopepla, S. manusensis and S. miscix. All species are illustrated, and keys to species and distribution maps are provided. A phylogenetic analysis was performed to test the monophyly of the genus and to examine distribution patterns of the species. A biogeographical discussion is included. The tribal position of the genus is clarified and relationships to closely related genera are discussed. Twenty-one species of Neckeropsis and five of Himantocladium were included in this study, which is based on phylogenetic analyses using sequence level data from the plastid (rps4)-trnT-trnL-trnF cluster and rpl16 as well as nuclear ITS1 & 2. Neckeropsis ap- peared as polyphyletic. Neckeropsis s. str. comprises 12 species and a further four species, not included in the analysis, are tentatively retained in the genus based on morphology.

MEDAREVIĆ Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, 11030 Belgrade, Serbia Abstract - The study of oak phytophagous insects was performed in the period 1992-2010 in the region of the Djerdap National Park. More than a third (36.67%) of the phytophages in oak forests are frequent and can occasionally cause local outbreaks. The early spring defoliator phytophages so far identified in the oak forests of the Djerdap National Park are outbreak species and are significant agents of forest ecosystem degradation and decline. The most frequent species are Tortrix viridana and Operophtera brumata. It was found that Quercus petraea was more affected by dieback then Q. cerris and Q. frainetto.
