Russo Abstract This study summarises the known records of the Macrolepidoptera species of the “Bosco Palazzi” area near the municipality of Putignano (Apulia region) in the Murgia mountains in southern Italy. The list of species is based on historical bibliographic data along with new material collected by other entomologists in the last few decades. A total of 207 species belonging to the families Cossidae (3 species), Drepanidae (4 species), Lasiocampidae (7 species), Limacodidae (1 species), Saturniidae (2 species), Sphingidae (5 species), Brahmaeidae (1 species), Geometridae (55 species), Notodontidae (5 species), Nolidae (3 species), Euteliidae (1 species), Noctuidae (96 species), and Erebidae (24 species) were identified. -

For the time being, the collections are preserved in three different localities in Turkey. This is a collective scientific information system of the Centre for Entomological Studies Ankara (Cesa). Info-system is based upon the following units of the Cesa: Label information of the Insect Collections of the Cesa (a large number dried, mostly pinned specimens) http://grbio.org/cool/d36c-mrxe [currently, server is down] Genitalic slides (more than 3000 examples). Ges. 102 65-93 München, 15.10.2012 ISSN 0340-4943 On the winter and spring aspect of the Macrolepidoptera fauna of Jordan with remarks on the biology of some species (Lepidoptera: Tineoidea, Cossoidea, Bombycoidea, Papilionoidea, Geometroidea, Noctuoidea) Dirk STADIE and Lutz LEHMANN († 1) Abstract The results of two lepidopterological expeditions to Jordan from December 20 to December 30, 2008 (provinces of Irbid, Karak, Tafila und Ma’an) and March 19 to March 25, 2009 (provinces: Zarqa, Tafila, Irbid and Balqa) are presented. A total of 166 species of Macrolepidoptera could be recorded, among them 21 species new for Jordan. Desertobia heloxylonia lawrencei subsp. n. is described. The female genitalia of Odontopera jordanaria (STAUDINGER, 1898) comb. n., are figured for the first time. The larvae of Odontopera jordanaria STAUDINGER, 1898, Minucia wiskotti (PÜNGELER, 1902), Allophyes benedictina (STAUDINGER, 1892), Agrochola pauli (STAUDINGER, 1892), Agrochola scabra (STAUDINGER, 1892), Agrochola staudingeri RONKAY, 1984, Conistra acutula (STAUDINGER, 1892), Polymixis apora (STAUDINGER, 1898) and Polymixis juditha (STAUDINGER, 1898) are described and figured. Introduction Our knowledge of the winter aspect of the macrolepidoptera fauna of the southwestern Palaearctic region is still lower compared to other seasons. It has been shown during expeditions that in countries with subtropical- mediterranean climate an interesting macrolepidoptera fauna with numerous poorly known or even new species could be ascertained, in the eremic as well as in the steppe and mediterranean zone. Scalercio & S. Greco Abstract In this paper we described the Heterocera fauna of the Calabrian black pine forest in the Sila Massif, southern Italy. We sampled 15 stands at 1270-1446 meters of altitude. One UV-Led light traps per stand was turned on once per month from May to November 2015 and from April to November 2016. We collected 18,827 individuals belonging to 367 species. Thaumetopoea pityocampa (Notodontidae) and Alcis repandata (Geometridae) were the most abundant species. Conifers are the main larval foodplant of 11 species and 4,984 individuals. Particularly interesting was the presence of Eupithecia indigata, discovered in Italy outside the Alps few years ago, abundant in pure Calabrian black pine stands. STEPANOV” ENTOMOLOGICAL COLLECTION Cristina ȚUGULEA, Andrian ȚUGULEA, Nadejda MOCREAC, Valeriu DERJANSCHI Rezumat AL MODE Geometridele (Lepidoptera, Geometridae) din colecția entomologică „R. Stepanov”. Lucrarea prezintă analiza fluturilor din familia Geometridae (Lepidoptera) conservate în colecția entomologică „R. Stepanov” care se află în fondurile Muzeului Național de Etnografie și Istorie Naturală din Chișinău. Cele 158 de exemplare aparțin la 58 specii incluse în 42 genuri și patru subfamilii: Ennominae (20 de specii), Geometrinae (2), Larentiinae (19) și Sterrhinae – 17 specii. Din punct de vedere numeric cel mai bine este reprezentată subfamilia Larentiinae, care însumează 75 de exemplare din 158, constituind 47,5 %. Este REVERSE MODE urmată de subfamilia Ennominae cu 43 de exemplare și Sterrhinae cu 37 de exemplare. Subfamilia Geometrinae înregistrează doar 3 exemplare. Genul Acasis Duponchel, 1845 și speciile Acasis appensata (Eversmann, 1842) și Scopula decorata (Denis și Schiffermüller, 1775) sunt taxoni noi pentru fauna Republicii Moldova. This is the second Lepidoptera family with about 23.000 described species occurring worldwide with the exception of the Polar Regions [8] and the most beautiful species being found in the tropics. The majority of the moth’s species are mostly nocturnal than diurnal. The Geometridae caterpillars are popularly called inchworms or loopers which are dangerous species causing the development of mass outbreaks which lead to defoliation of crops, forests, of trees and shrubs from parks and squares. -

GEOMETRIDAE Data reported here were collected in more than 20 years in Southern Italy; they were also inte- grated with data found in literature. The check list is according to ZANGHERI & RAINERI (in press); are also reported chorotype (sensu PARENZAN, 1994), numerical order of LERAUT (1980), data found in literature, flight time and the collection places for each species. The list includes: (1) Species actually recorded in the Cemetery, shown in bold. These are mainly from day observations, but on 10th August 2019 we had our first moth trapping event in Earlham Cemetery. Thanks to Ken Saul of Norfolk Moth Survey and Susan Moore of Norwich City Council for arranging this. (2) Species recorded at 12 Helena Road, Norwich (grid reference: TG 215 091) by VB & JB between 1992 and 2013 which definitely or almost certainly came from the Cemetery, which is directly at the back of the garden. More recent records of species caught in a moth trap at 24 Helena Road by GW. (3) Species recorded at 12 Helena Road by VB & JB, which probably came from inside the garden, such as several moth species associated with the garden pond or plants not found in the Cemetery. These are shown in italics. (4) Species recorded in other places near to but not adjoining the Cemetery, such as the West Norwich Hospital on Bowthorpe Road. The location is listed with these species. Shown in red. Most species recorded at 12 Helena Road (2 and 3 above) were trapped using a mercury vapour lamp, a homemade version of a Robinson trap, although a Heath trap was also used occasionally.
