Re: Supplemental Statement of National Council of Resistance of Iran-US Representative Office

Dear Mr. Van Grack:

Enclosed please find the Supplemental Statement for the National Council of Resistance of Iran, US Representative Office (“NCRI-US”)- We are submitting these materials as counsel to NCRI-US and in compliance with the Foreign Agent Registration Act.

According to Article 186 of Iran’s Islamic Punishment Act, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (also sometimes called the Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK), NCRI, the movement’s members and supporters, and anyone associated with the movement are automatically sentenced to death. For decades, the Iranian regime has actively pursued and punished supporters of the movement, including harassment, incarceration and execution of not only supporters but their families as well. The increased frequency of sentencing supporters to the death penalty was noted in a report of the UN Secretary General which stated that “[a] worrying trend is the increased number of cases in which political prisoners are accused of Moharebeh (enmity against God) offences which carry the death penalty.”1 As recently as June 2014, Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was hung for assisting MEK by donating and facilitating financial aid for NCRI’s efforts.2 Khosravi was initially sentenced to life in prison in 2008 after he contributed $3,000.00 to a satellite television station affiliated with the People’s Mojahedin but was later sentenced to death.3

By virtue of their affiliation with the NCRI-US, the persons named in this registration are openly and actively opposed to the ruling regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran. As such, they have been declared criminals whose punishment is death by that regime, and are in grave danger of terrorist violence from that regime. In that this document will become public record and in accordance with guidance previously received from the FARA Unit, contributor information that the NCRI-US believes could pose a security risk to those associated with its activities has been assigned unique identifiers to those contributing to NCRI-US to protect their identities from the Iranian regime. In accordance with 22 USC
