  • A Study on the Influences of Exclusive Stopping Space on Saturation Flow (Case Study: Bandar Lampung)
International Conference on Science, Technology, and Environment 2019 Jogyakarta, 29-30 August A Study on the Influences of Exclusive Stopping Space on Saturation Flow (Case Study: Bandar Lampung) ALEKSANDER PURBA*, IKA KUSTIANI AND GALUH PRAMITA Engineering Faculty, the University of Lampung Abstract: The existence of exclusive stopping space (ESS) at the signalized intersection is expected to improve the performance of intersection, by collecting the motorcycle in an exclusive space and discharging it early when the signal is display green. This research compares the level of saturation flow on the approach with ESS and approach without ESS and finds that ESS's effectiveness is influenced primarily by occupancy rate. The findings of this study indicated that at 71% of ESS occupancy rate, the approach was able to discharge the saturation flow by 20% higher than the approach with a width of 4.5 m but without ESS. On the contrary, the approach without ESS with a width of 6.5 m looks better in discharge saturation flow compared with the approach with ESS but with an occupancy rate of only 38%. Careful design is highly recommended especially the area of ESS provided for motorcycle so that the functions performed by exclusive space run an effective way as planned. Keywords: Exclusive stopping space, Motorcycle, Saturation flow. 1. Introduction The number and use of motorcycles in major cities in Indonesia continues to increase not only due to travel needs but also because of its existence is considered to provide flexibility, cheaper and in some conditions faster than private car or public transportation such as buses.

Conclusion: Convergent Paths In November 1945, the President of the Republic of Vietnam, Hồ Chí Minh, sent a letter addressed to ‘the President of the Republic of Indonesia’, proposing that a joint declaration of solidarity to be made by Indonesia and Vietnam in the form of a ‘Preparatory Commission Struggling for a Federation of the Free Peoples of Southern Asia’. The letter, entrusted to an American journalist named Harold Isaacs, did not reach President Soekarno.1 It was handed to Vice-President Mohammad Hatta, who then passed it on to Prime Minister Sutan Sjahrir. Sjahrir discussed the offer with Soedjatmoko Koko, the interpreter to foreign correspon- dents of the Republican government, but told him that he would not reply and preferred just to ignore the letter. Sjahrir indifference sprang from his conviction that the situation in Indonesia and Vietnam were very different. The Indonesian nationalists were up against the Dutch, who were ‘a weak colonial power and could be defeated quickly.’ Hồ Chí Minh had to contend with the French, who could and would resist him for a long time. Furthermore, he looked askance at the fact that the DRV government depended on support from the communists, which was not the case in Indonesia. In conclusion, Sjahrir argued, ‘If we ally ourselves with Hồ Chí Minh, we shall weaken ourselves and delay Independence.’2 The story of the missed opportunity for cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia3 as a result of Sjahrir’s ‘betrayal of the greater Asian revolution’,as 1Harold Robert Isaacs is the author of No Peace for Asia, which has been cited widely in this dissertation.

  • Rules and Options
Rules and Options The author has attempted to draw as much as possible from the guidelines provided in the 5th edition Players Handbooks and Dungeon Master's Guide. Statistics for weapons listed in the Dungeon Master's Guide were used to develop the damage scales used in this book. Interestingly, these scales correspond fairly well with the values listed in the d20 Modern books. Game masters should feel free to modify any of the statistics or optional rules in this book as necessary. It is important to remember that Dungeons and Dragons abstracts combat to a degree, and does so more than many other game systems, in the name of playability. For this reason, the subtle differences that exist between many firearms will often drop below what might be called a "horizon of granularity." In D&D, for example, two pistols that real world shooters could spend hours discussing, debating how a few extra ounces of weight or different barrel lengths might affect accuracy, or how different kinds of ammunition (soft-nosed, armor-piercing, etc.) might affect damage, may be, in game terms, almost identical. This is neither good nor bad; it is just the way Dungeons and Dragons handles such things. Who can use firearms? Firearms are assumed to be martial ranged weapons. Characters from worlds where firearms are common and who can use martial ranged weapons will be proficient in them. Anyone else will have to train to gain proficiency— the specifics are left to individual game masters. Optionally, the game master may also allow characters with individual weapon proficiencies to trade one proficiency for an equivalent one at the time of character creation (e.g., monks can trade shortswords for one specific martial melee weapon like a war scythe, rogues can trade hand crossbows for one kind of firearm like a Glock 17 pistol, etc.).
