Project Partner Poverty Alleviation Fund, Beneficiaries Total 1700 (Dalit 200, Janajati 1200, Women 1450., Others 300) Total Budget (NRs) 633000 for 5 month Objectives Increase in income generation , access in saving & credit facility and Small scale physical infrastructure development Brief Summary Lease Land Intervention for Improved Livelihood of Landless and Disadvantaged People project is led by MADE-Nepal with the financial support of Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) for the better living standard of marginalized, disadvantaged and landless communities of Chitwan district. The innovative project aims to improvement in the existing social economic status through various agro-based income generating opportunity particularly vegetables and on-farm resource management for self-sustained community development. Major Activities • Group formation and social mobilization • Direct cash support to community; • Training on off-seasonal, seasonal vegetable farming and goat farming; • Boar (Water pump) support; • Saving and credit activity; • Exposure visit; • Linkage with local government. Approach/Strategy The project aims to increase in standard of living through social mobilization and financial accessibility while using local resource with a strong participation of community especially focusing on women Major • Increased in saving habit and access on credit facility through Achievement/Result/ Community organization saving and credit activity; Outcomes • Reduction of poverty through Vegetable production and goat farming; • Achieve knowledge about importance of group, leadership development, and process of account keeping; • Establishment of Cooperative by gathering member of Community organization; • Structure of water supply deep boring and small cannel for irrigation; • Established close coordination with government agencies and stakeholder; Major lesson learnt • Saving and credit facility is essential for rural remote community because they do not have access on banking and financial facility. • Program should be design according to desire of community. • Regular follow up is the essential tools for a accomplish result.
