It marks the triumph of good over evil hence strikes a cord with people from all beliefs and cultures. May the light that we celebrate at Diwali show us the way and lead us together on the path of peace and social harmony. “WISHING ALL READERS & PATRONS A VERY HAPPY DEEPAVALI” -- Ahimsa Foundation -- SAINTS GURU PUSHKAR JAYANTI CELEBRATED AT GURGAON Large number of dedicated members of Sthanakwasi Jain Community attended 103rd Guru Pushkar Muni Jayanti celebrations at Gurgaon on 14th October, 2012. The programme was organised at New Jain Sthanak at Gurgaon in the auspicious presence of Upadhay Ramesh Muni and Dr. Rajendra Muni group of Saints. Pushkar Muni is highly regarded & revered saint of Sthanakwasi sect with very high number of committed followers. He was one of the first saint to take the Jaina philosophy outside Jain Diaspora. He authored more then three hundred books & travelled barefooted around the country. Recognising his approach towards humanity, peace and coexistence, then President of India Giani Zail Singh decorated him with the title of "World Saint". Celebrations started with religious prayers and followed by discourse from Dr. Rajendra Muni and Upadhay Shri Ramesh Muni and Shri Surendra Muni. The meet was also addressed by Avinash Chordia, Anand Prakash Jain, Sher Singh, Prashant Jain etc. (executive body members of Stanthnakwasi Jain Conference), Anil Jain (Ahimsa Foundation). Many other devotees also shared their memories about Guru Pushkar Muni. It was also the day of celebration as Shri Surendra Muni had completed 25 years of his Diksha period. On this occasion, he also released a grand compilation of 3,100 Jain Bhajans. Shri Surendra Muni is a very popular saint due to his personal connectivity with his followers. He has authored several books of social relevance. Recognizing his literary contributions the community titled him "Sahitya Diwakar". Surendra Muni conducted Antakshri programme in the second half of the day. The day long programme was very well organised and conducted under the strict guidance of Shri Surendra Muni. उपायाय पुकर मुनजी म.सा. का 103वां जम जयंती समारोह संपन, उदयपुर उदयपुर, 21 अटूबर। उपायाय पुकर मुन ने समाज को नई दशा दान करने के लए काफ संघष कया। वे ऐसे महान वितव के धनी थे िजहने पूरे वव म ेम, शांत और भाईचारे का संदेश सारत कया। आज हम सभी उनके वारा दत ेरणाओं के ऋणी ह। ये वचार रासंत वतक गणेशमुन शाी ने वितव कए। वे रववार 21 अटूबर को देवे धाम म ी तारक गु जैन ंथालया तथा जैनाचाय ी देवे मुन शण एवं चकसा शोध संथान के सयुत संयुत तवावधान म साधना के शखर पुष ववसंत उपायाय वर गुदेव पुकर मुन म.सा. क 103वीं जम जयंती समारोह को संबांधत कर रहे थे। वतक गणेश मुन ने कहा क उपायाय पुकरमुन ने जैनधम, दशन एवं चार के भाव क पताका पूरे वव म फैलाने का काय कया। आज उहं के यास और दूरिट का परणाम है क जैनधम अनवरत प से गत के सोपान क ओर असर है। वे नवकार मं के महान आराधक थे। उहने जैनधम के येक पहलुओं को बारक से लोग तक पहु ंचाने का काम कया। उह वतमान के साथ भवय क िथतयय का ान था। इसी वजह से उहने युग क िथत का भांपते हु ए जैनधम को नई दशा देने का यास कया। इसी वजह से वे युगटा कहलाए। इस अवसर पर सलाहकार दनेश मुन ने पुकर मुन वारा दए गए उपदेश का मरण करते हु ए ावक समाज से आनान कया क वे उनके बताए सांत को अपने जीवन म उतारने का यास कर। उहने समाज को वकास के पथ पर ले जाने का यास कय। उहने कहा क उपायाय पुकर मुन वैदक एवं मण संकृत के अनूठे सेतु थे। वे दा हण करने के बाद जैन साधना पत पर बढते चले गए। आगम क गाथाओं एवं नवकार महामंा का ननाद उनके वितव का एक आवयक सोपान बन गया था। वे संकृत के साथ-साथ वैदक, बौ या आद दशन तथा गीता, उपनष एवं आगम थ के काड ववान और हद, ाकृत, संकृत, पाल, राजथानी, गुजराती, मराठ, उदू आद 9 भाषाओं के ाता होने के साथ-साथ साहय लेखन के धनी थे। उहने आयामक आक और नैतक वीषय पर सवा सौ से अधक पुतक के साथ जैन कथा के 111 भाग, 300 वीषय, 1000 से अधक कहानय का लेखन कर अपना नाम अमर कर दया। वतनी महासती डॉ. चंदना ने अपने संबोधन म कहा क पुकर मुन सदय क तमूत थे। उनके उपदेश ेम, अहंसा, सहणुता पर आधारत होते थे। अपने वचन और यहार वारा जीवन के उचतम नैतक, मानवीय और आयामक मूय को समाज के समुख तुत कया। समारोह म उदयपुर शहर सहत मेवाड व राजथान के अलावा मया देश, गुजरात, हरयाणा, पंजाब, दल, उतरदेश, महारा आद देश से आए ावकः ावकाएं भी उपिथत थे। समारोह का संचालन डॉ. पुपे मुन एवं ी तारक गु जैन ंथालय ् ◌ा के मंी वीर डांगी ने कया। जीवन म संकार का सवाधक महव : मुन रमेश 03 Oct 2012, जासं, लुधयाना, इकबाल गंज चौक िथत तेरापंथ भवन म जैन वेतांबर तेरापंथी सभा के तवावधान म बाल संकार नमाण शवर का आयोजन कया गया। इसम मुन ी रमेश कुमार ने कहा क जीवन म संकार का सवाधक महव है। बचपन म ात संकार के आधार पर ह भवय का नमाण होता है। आज के युग म अभभावक अपने बच क शा के त जागक अवय ह, कंतु संकार क िट से बहु त ह उदासीनता नजर आ रह है। इन संकार नमाण के शवर के मायम से इन छोटे-छोटे बच म यद आंशक प म संकार का बीजारोपण होता है, तो वह शवर क एक महवपूण उपलिध हो सकेगी। मुन चैतय कुमार अमन ने कहा क जीवन म सवाधक उपकार माता-पता व धम गु का होता है। वे अपने बच को शा के साथ संकार देने का काय करते ह। बच म वनता, अनुशासन व णाम क संकृत का वकास होता है। इस अवसर पर अनुशासत वयाथय के प म धीरज बरड़या का चयन कया गया। अनुशासत कया के प म तृषा आहू जा का नाम सवाधक सामायक का अनेक बालक व 7 घंटे तक सवाधक मौन पर उह पुरकार दया गया। सभी बच को पुरकार देकर उनका उसाह बढ़ाया गया। इस अवसर पर वनोद सुराना, सरोज कोचर, ेम सेठया, ममता सेठया, रेखा दुगड़, ममता सुराना, राय चंद चोराड़या व मनोज धारवाल आद उपिथत हु ए। BANGLORE JAIN COMMUNITY SEEK POLICE PROTECTION FOR DIGAMBARA MUNIS Banglore: A Digambara Muni’s only clothing is the atmosphere itself, such is the degree of renunciation among the Jain monks. Yet, while the man on the street rarely ridicules excess, this form of renunciation is being met with laughter and bullying in and around Bangalore. In one of life’s little ironies, the strictest followers of ‘Ahimsa’ or non-violence are ending up being victims of violence and force, compelling devotees to seek police protection. Several recent incidents have upset the Jain community. Consider this: A Jain Muni was walking near Hebbal flyover, surrounded by around five to six devotees. As is the tradition, a flag-bearing devotee was walking in front of the Muni when a few people came out of nowhere, snatched the flag and tried to forcibly cover the Muni with it. This is not an isolated incident. When a Jain Muni was passing Mantri Mall in Malleswaram, a passerby came running towards him and tried to cover him with a piece of cloth. Recently, media houses were flooded with calls, informing them about a ‘nude man’ walking near Queen’s Road. Some people even alerted cops. However, inquiries revealed that it was a Jain Muni and not a nudist as people had assumed. While such incidents do not hurt the Munis, it is embarrassing for the devotees escorting them. Devotees coordinating the walks actually live in fear of attack. The problem is aggravated when the Munis have to walk long distances. Committee members also recall the experience of Munis going from Bangalore to Tamil Nadu. “There have been numerous instances especially around Salem where people refuse to allow Munis to walk on the road. Many of them stop us and ask us to return. In one such instance, we made a chain of devotees, each of whom covered the Muni as he passed.
