Suggested Title of Good Choice – special focus on parent´s involvement the project Funding Program ERASMUS+, Key Action 2, Strategic partnership Call for proposal March 31st, 2015 Applicant The Burgenlandkreis is a District Administration in the heart of Middle . It proceeds according to the motto “united in diversity” in agreement with the cities and communities and has grown to a modern district with a strong identity, great attraction and high local density. With the viticulture along the rivers and , the , the world-famous sky disc of , the monastery and the imperial palace of as well as its economy and tourism, the Burgenlandkreis has become an emerging and multifaceted region. Living and working in the district of the Burgenlandkreis, people can rely on sustainable and strong networked medium-sized businesses. The activities and cooperation of our networks enrich this region to a significant extent, e.g. the network for food industry of Saxony-Anhalt South, the Middle German network for logistics, the Middle German network for metal, electrical systems and ceramic or the Middle German network for health. The regional alliance for innovation, economy and labor – a consensus model with three pillars (i.e. the district administrator, employer representatives and employee representatives) – gives important impulses concerning the development of the economic parameters and for the close cooperation with the Middle German universities. The district of the Burgenlandkreis managed to realize 13 European projects in the past years and generated additional financings amounting to 2.3 million Euro out of the European structural funds. Hereby, we could learn from the experiences of multiple European partners. These experiences have been useful for important challenges regarding developments in the fields of human resources, energy efficiency, the recultivation of post-mining landscapes and the viticulture in connection with the development of the tourism. Some examples of these projects are GovernEE, TRansIT and REVITAMIN. We will continue to implement projects with European partners through intercultural cooperation in the current funding period, which started in 2014. In doing so, we will further develop our region. It is particularly important to us to rebalance the demographic changes as well as to establish a welcoming culture. A further main focus is on education. In present, we are developing a municipal education management system and will hereby support parental homes in the transition from kindergarten to elementary school and from school to vocational training. Project ideas Parents influence the development of their children significantly. In order to enable our children to have a smooth transfer between the different levels of child and youth education (e.g. from kindergarten to school, from elementary school to secondary school or from secondary school to vocational training),
