SOUTHWESTERN QUICK HITS Nov. 15 at McPherson 1:30 p.m. McPherson Stadium (3,500) - McPherson, Kan. -Southwestern and McPherson will meet on the football field for the 59th time Saturday afternoon in a 1:30 p.m. contest on the turf of McPherson Stadium in McPherson. The Moundbuilders own a 43-15 advantage in the 2014 SOUTHWESTERN COACHING STAFF all-time series with the Bulldogs, but have dropped each of the last six match-ups with McPherson, including a On the Field... 37-7 decision a year ago in Winfield. Southwestern’s last win over the Bulldogs came on Sept. 22, 2007, when the -Ken Crandall (Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator) Moundbuilders defeated McPherson, 34-21, in Winfield. Southwestern’s last win in McPherson came in the form -Jimmie Tagg (Co-Defensive Coordinator) of a 49-21 decision on Nov. 12, 2005. -Wyatt Jiru (Running Backs) -Victor Redd (Wide Receivers) -Sitting at 1-9 after the first eight weeks of the 2014 season, the Moundbuilders are off to their worst start since -Jonathon Lyons (Tight Ends) the 2008 season. That team started the season 0-9, and finished with a 1-9 overall record. A 1-10 mark would go down as the least-successful season in Moundbuilder football history. In the Press Box... -Andy Krause (Co-Defensive Coordinator) -After missing most of the 2013 season due to injury, junior linebacker Eric Walker has quickly made his way to -Mark Scott (Special Teams Coordinator, Linebackers) the national spotlight. Walker enters Saturday’s contest ranked No. 3 in the NAIA with 13.5 tackles per contest, -Logan Wyrick (Offensive Line) including 18.5 total tackles for loss, a mark that ranks 10th nationally. Senior linebacker Paul Mata has also emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the defensive backfield. Mata currently ranked No. 19 in the NAIA with 9.9 tackles per game.
