The Mound- -Jimmie Tagg (Co-Defensive Coordinator) builders opened KCAC play by defeating Kansas Wesleyan for the first time in the Crandall era (24-14) a year ago -Mark Scott (Special Teams Coordinator, Linebackers) in Winfield, and are 4-3 all-time in KCAC openers under Crandall. -Wyatt Jiru (Running Backs) -Victor Redd (Wide Receivers) -Southwestern is hoping to avoid its first 0-3 start since 2010. Likewise, the Coyotes are hoping to avoid an 0-3 start for the first time since 1997. KWU is averaging 374.5 yards per game through the air this season, a mark that is currently the best passing yards-per-game mark in NAIA football this season. Southwestern is allowing an average of 211 passing yards per game. The Coyotes have not been able to defend the pass in their two games this season. KWU allows 315.5 passing yards per game, and ranks 82nd out of 88 teams in the NAIA.

-The rushing game will likely not be a factor in Saturday’s game. Southwestern is averaging just 75.5 rushing yards per game this season, while KWU averages just 89 yards per game on the ground this season.
