The Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) Project will bring 20 kilometres of fast, reliable, rapid transit to the cities of Mississauga and Brampton along the Hurontario corridor. New, modern light rail vehicles will travel in a dedicated right-of-way and serve 22 stops with connections to GO Transit’s Milton and Lakeshore West rail lines, Mississauga MiWay, Brampton Züm, and the Mississauga Transitway. Metrolinx is working in coordination with the cities of Mississauga and Brampton and the Region of Peel to advance the Hurontario LRT project. Preparatory construction is underway. The project is expected to be completed at the end of 2022. The Hurontario LRT project is funded through a $1.4 billion commitment from the Province of Ontario as part of the Moving Ontario Forward plan. Bolton Residential Expansion Study (BRES) and Successful Integration of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) May 24, 2016 The purpose of this memorandum is to review the professional literature pertaining to the potential develop- ment of a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) in the Bolton Residential Expansion Study area, in response to the Region of Peel’s recent release of the Discussion Paper. The Discussion Paper includes the establishment of evaluation themes and criteria, which are based on provincial and regional polices, stakeholder and public comments. It should be noted that while the Discussion Paper and the Region’s development of criteria does not specifi- cally advocate for TOD, it is the intent of this memorandum to illustrate that TOD-centric planning will not only adequately address such criteria, but will also complement and enhance the Region’s planning principles, key points and/or themes found in stakeholder and public comments. In the following are research findings related to TOD generally, and specifically, theMetrolinx Mobility Hub Guidelines For The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (September 2011) objectives. Additionally, following a review and assessment of the “Response to Comments Submitted on the Bolton Residential Expansion Study ROPA” submission prepared by SGL Planning & Design Inc. (March 15, 2016), this memorandum evaluates some of the key arguments and assumptions made in this submission relative to the TOD research findings. Planning for Transit-Oriented Developments TOD policy and programs can result in catalytic development that creates walkable, livable neighborhoods around transit providing economic, livability and equitable benefits. The body of research on TODs in the United States has shown that TODs are more likely to succeed when project planning takes place in conjunction with transit system expansion. -

Summary of How the Port Credit GO Station Southeast Area Master Plan Addresses Stakeholder and Community Questions, Comments and Concerns As part of the Port Credit GO Station Southeast Area Master Plan, the Study Team consulted with stakeholders and the general public through: • Individual landowner meetings; • Master Plan Study Advisory Panel meetings; • City of Mississauga Interdepartmental meetings; • Public Open House (question and answer period and comment forms); and • A presentation to the City of Mississauga Urban Design Panel. Through the study consultation processes, a range of comments, questions and concerns were raised. The following provides a summary of the input received and how it was addressed by the Port Credit GO Station Southeast Area Master Plan. Transportation AMO Conference 2018 Ministry of Transportation Topics: Hurontario Light Rail Transit & Extension Mobility Hubs Regional Express Rail (RER) & High Speed Rail (HSR) Hwy 407/410 Connections to Brampton “Uptown” GTA West Corridor Transportation AMO Conference 2018 Transit & Regional Connections - Overview Connecting Brampton to the GTHA and Beyond Building on the strength of existing local and regional transportation networks, the City is working towards a seamless integration of all transportation networks connecting Brampton with the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and beyond. Ongoing projects that improve and enhance transit and active transportation connectivity include: Queen Street Rapid Transit Master Plan study, Hurontario LRT Extension Environmental Assessment (EA), and an Active Transportation Master Plan study. Brampton Transit Brampton Transit is one of the fastest growing transit systems in Ontario with ridership outpacing population growth: o In 2017, annual transit ridership increased to 27.4 million riders, an astonishing 18.4% increase over 2016 o Second fastest growing city in Canada, with the lowest average age of 36.5 Brampton Transit Ridership Growth Transportation AMO Conference 2018 Hurontario LRT & Extension Our Ask: Metrolinx partner with the City of Brampton to advance the Light Rail Transit Extension Environmental Assessment study, connecting transit to Downtown Brampton. -2- HURONTARIO LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT Information as of February, 2019 Enbridge Gas Distribution Line Relocation Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue Beginning Mid February 2019 What is the Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project? The Hurontario LRT will be a light rail service connecting people from the Port Credit GO station to the Brampton Gateway Terminal. The Hurontario LRT will connect with the Port Credit and Cooksville GO stations, Mississauga Transitway, MiWay and Züm transit lines. What work is taking place? To accommodate the construction of the Hurontario LRT, Enbridge Gas Distribution (Enbridge) is required to install a new gas line on Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue. These pipelines are integral to Enbridge’s gas system and must be re-routed to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to customers in the Greater Toronto Area. Timing Work is scheduled to start in mid February 2019 and will last for approximately two months. Work will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work could be rescheduled and delayed due to weather conditions or any unforeseen circumstances. What to Expect Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions. Access to properties will be maintained at all times through at least one driveway. Residents and businesses near the work site can expect to hear noise caused by trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment related to this work.
