Android tablet, such as a Google Nexus, or any Android device that can access the Google Play Store

This free service is available exclusively to patrons of the Pittsburg Public Library.

Use these instructions if you have:

 An Android tablet, such as a Google Nexus, or any Android device that can access the Google Play Store.

 An iOS Device, such as an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

You will check out books from the Axis 360 Magic Wall and read them on the Blio app.

Helpful Info:

 The library staff suggest that you use a computer (desktop or laptop) to create your accounts and check out the books.

 Then, use your ereader or tablet to access and read the books you have checked out.

 If your Android tablet cannot access the Google Play Store, then it is not compatible with the Blio software. (Unless you have a Kindle Fire, then please see RED handout.)

1. To get started visit: http://ppl.axis360.baker-taylor.com. 2. Type in your library card number without spaces. The PIN number is the password PPL Library Card Number/ Axis 360: associated with your PPL account. If you do not have your PIN number, you will need to visit the library or call 620-231-8110. Pin Number: 3. Once entered correctly, you will be logged in and can check out e-books.

Step 2: Visit the APP ZONE to download the software you need.

 Blio software is used to read library e-books on smartphones and tablets running iOS or android. It can also be used on Windows computers.  Download and Install Blio to your device: Download links are available in the APP Zone.  You will be prompted to create your Blio account at this time. This is separate from your Blio Username: Library card number and PIN.

 Please write down the user name and password that you created. The library cannot access this Password: information in the future.

NOTE: Adobe Digital Editions and ePub/PDF are not compatible with your device.

Step 3: Search for ebooks on the Axis 360 Magic Wall.

1. Login to at: http://ppl.axis360.baker-taylor.com or link from the PPL website. 2. Browse the Magic Wall to see featured and recently returned items. 3. Search for titles using the search bar or browse the collection by clicking the “Browse by Subject” button. 4. When you find what you want, make sure to select the Blio format & click “Add to Checkout List.” 5. If the title is checked out, you may reserve it by clicking Place on Hold. Provide an e-mail address to be notified when the title is available. The item will be held for 3 days.

Step 4: Checkout the item(s).

1. Click “My Checkout List” in the upper right corner of the Axis 360 website. 2. If you choose to do so, you may set the lending period for less than two weeks. 3. Click “Confirm Checkout” at the bottom of the page.  You will be prompted to provide your Blio user ID and password.

Step 5: Transfer the item(s) to your device.

 Once you checkout the item using your Blio account, it will automatically be downloaded into the Blio app. Just click on the book cover to read. Pittsburg Public Library 308 N Walnut Pittsburg Kansas 66762 PPLonline.org 620-231-8110
