Incantaţia marelui Nudimmud prea slăvit: “Pe când nu erau teamă. Ori spaimă ! Pe când nu erau muşcătură şi venin. Pe când ferocele animal de pradă nu era pe Ninhursag-Ki născut şi ivit ! Când fiinţele se-ndestulau doar cu “verdele unt gras” al păşunii, din plin. De Enki-Nudimmud înţelepţit: Omul era al fiinţelor bun protector, păstor. Culegând pentru oameni şi blândele vietăţi din al lui Ki verde ogor roditor, Cunoscând doar bunul gust al rădăcinilor, al frunzelor şi-al seminţelor Plantelor verzi. Stăruind în închinare, bunătate, dedicat legii credinţelor... Şi dreptăţii nemărginite. Fie slava timpurilor de început pe veci pomenite ! Fără suferinţă, colţi, boală, durere ! Şi-n imens univers, entropica Ki autoregenerată să se scalde-n diversitate. Astfel încât cauzele mici care produc efecte mari utile să fie în regenerare. Prin sine, natura să-şi revină din abundenţa de consum, exces, exploatare. Aşa, incantaţia originară de închinare se-nalţă în forme şi sunete diverse, Cele armonioase răzbat înălţimile toate ca Cerul încurcubat să se reverse Prin duioasa-i înduioşare... dând fiinţelor lacrimile ploii de binecuvântare. Stropii de viaţă dătători şi de renaştere continuă. Regenerare şi redare.     The Elamite Cylinder Seal Corpus, c.3500 – 1000 BC Volume I, Part III K. J. Roach Doctor of Philosophy, (Near Eastern) Archaeology 2008 The University of Sydney Chapter 5 – Summary of Style Distribution across the Elamite Sites The purpose of this chapter is to detail and outline the specific glyptic style distribution at each site included in the Corpus. This survey has two main objectives. The first is the summation and discussion of the Elamite styles from each site, and thereby the revision and reassessment of the ‘glyptic material’ survey presented for each site in the initial site survey section (Chapter 2), by detailing the site glyptic material in the terms of the new Elamite stylistic paradigm here presented. The second intention is to provide some of the background information and data, be it contextual, stylistic and chronological, regarding the function of various glyptic items at each site and across Elam, thereby enabling the following discussion on glyptic function (Chapter 6). The style distribution (how many styles and in what proportions) of each site will be presented, and thereby the basic chronological distribution of the glyptic material, with any necessary discussion where this information strongly contradicts the established chronological periodisation of a site, will be outlined. The glyptic material types (seals/sealings) and the specific materials will be presented, as will any information regarding seal function from provenance (that is, grave or temple context etc.) or type (sealing type especially). From the simpleststarting point, "for writing to be narrative,no moreand no less thana tellerand a tale are required.'1 Narrativeis, in otherwords, a solutionto " 2 the problemof "how to translateknowing into telling. In general,narrative may be said to make use ofthird-person cases and of past tenses, such that the teller of the story standssomehow outside and separatefrom the action.3But IRENE J. WINTER what is importantis thatnarrative cannot be equated with thestory alone; it is content(story) structured by the telling, University of Pennsylvania forthe organization of the story is whatturns it into narrative.4 Such a definitionwould seem to providefertile ground forart-historical inquiry; for what, after all, is a paintingor relief,if not contentordered by the telling(composition)? Touching the Void: The museological implications of theft on public art collections Jillian Seaton Ph.D. University of Edinburgh 2014 Abstract Of central importance to this thesis is the way security measures contradict the process through which museums have been seeking to divest themselves of theoretical hierarchies and value judgments in recent years. A context for investigation is established that considers how a perceptible increase in art theft, complicated by the escalating value of individual objects and the proliferation of museums as represented by a rise in attendance figures has produced a climate of vulnerability for arts collections around the world. In response, museums are installing unprecedented levels of security that are having a significant impact on established viewing conditions and redefining museum space. Further hindering this situation is the disparity between the fields of museology and museum security.

    Purim Part 1: ● The authorship of this book is unknown. It must have been obviously written after the death of Ahasuerus (the Xerxes of the Greeks), which took place B.C. 465. The minute and particular account also given of many historical details makes it probable that the writer was contemporary with Mordecai and Esther. Hence we may conclude that the book was written probably about B.C. 444-434, and that the author was one of the Jews of the dispersion. This book is more purely historical than any other book of Scripture; and it has this remarkable peculiarity that the name of God does not occur in it from first to last in any form. It has, however, been well observed that "though the name of God be not in it, his finger is." The book wonderfully exhibits the providential government of God. By: M.G.
