The “Kaßberg”

Only a few minutes away from the city center is one of the largest, coherently preserved founding period and art nouveau quarters in Europe. The district, popular with Chemnitz residents, is characterized by beautifully restored buildings and a large number of cafés, pubs and restaurants.

Industrial culture and museums

In Chemnitz you will find traces of industrial history everywhere. The industrial museum, the administration building of the former Hartmann works, the “Schönherr” factory, but also the “Villa Esche” and the railway viaduct over Annaberger street bear witness to the early days of Chemnitz.
