Register memiliki makna dan tujuan khusus dan dapat dibatasi oleh beberapa hal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menungkapkan register yang terdapat pada rangkaian acara upacara pernikahan adat Jawa gaya Yogyakarta, dalam hal jenis, fungsi, dan maknanya. Penelitian ini berjenis deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah berupa register dalam tuturan pranatacara upacara pernikahan adat Jawa gaya Yogyakarta. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan dari ketiga pranatacara dalam upacara pernikahan adat Jawa gaya Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode padan. Keabsasahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan perpanjangan keikutsertaan, pengecekan berulang, dan ketekunan pengamatan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Terdapat register berupa kata dan frasa pada tuturan pranatacara di setiap rangkaian acaranya. (2) Jenis register terbatas dan terbuka ditemukan di masing-masing pranatacara.(3) Fungsi register yang ditemukan berdasarkan analisis berjumlah enam, yatu fungsi instrumental, regulasi, interaksi, imajinasi, informasi, dan representasi.

Many kinds of symbols used on it. It is interesting to study Symbolism on Satu Suro in linguistics way, especially in semiotic. Therefore, the researcher has been interested in studying this problem by formulating four researcher problems such as: what are the functions of the ritual before the celebration of Satu Suro? Why ritual must be done before the celebration of the Suro? What are the functions of symbol which are used in celebrating Satu Suro? Why are symbols of Satu Suro reflected on celebrating Satu Suro? The research of this thesis is qualitative descriptive research. It is intended to describe about the symbols, and also the symbols meaning used in Satu Suro celebration. In each selamatan can not apart from it is equipment or ubarampe provided, for example the ubarampe for pregnancy ritual. The focus of the study is ubarampe nourishment that should be provided from one to nine months pregnancy. The aim of the study is to reveal awareness the function of ubarampe nourishment in pregnancy ritual contained in Serat Tata Cara (Ki Padmasusastra). This study uses the semiotic theoretical framework in the qualitative paradigm with the literature review method. The results of the study indicate that ubarampe nourishment in the pregnancy ritual from one to nine months is representing the harmony of food intake needs of mother according to gestational age. That shows that since the ancient times, Javanese ancestry heritage had thought about the safety of mother as well as the fetus by providing food intake as much as each gestational age need. The food intake is manifested in ubarampe nourishment in every pregnancy ritual. Therefore, awareness is needed that ubarampe nourishment in pregnancy ritual has a functions that is still very relevant today.
