The Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia is recently amended with the purpose to bring it in line with the Convention, in particular all the definitions and phrases used in the Convention were included in the articles of torture. All the articles containing the torture elements were amended. The English version of the amendments will be presented as soon as possible. 2. There have been no officials convicted of tortures against those having committed crimes against the person. 3. Two (2) cases were reviewed under Article 119 ("Torture") of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia in 2008. With respect to one of them - G. Alaverdyan’s case - the Court of First Instance delivered a criminal judgment on 2 December 2008 on finding the defendant guilty of committing a crime envisaged under Article 119(2)(3) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and imposed a punishment in the form of imprisonment for the term of 3 (three) years.

Yerevan is fully aware of these challenges, as the administrative as well as economic centre of Armenia, the overall economic prosperity of the country is substantially anchored on Yerevan’s economic development The quality of the urban environment, including air, water, soil, biodiversity, environmental assets and ecosystems are negatively impacted by human activities such as transport, energy, water use and waste management. In the recent years, many measures have already been taken to remedy the situation, but the measures should be doubled in the coming years to raise the quality of life in the City to standards seen in many European cities. These efforts will also help Yerevan contribute to global efforts in climate change mitigation and the transition to green economy. Methodology The Green City Action Plan (GCAP) was developed by applying 4 stage methodology, which is as follows: Stage 1 focused on relevant information and data identification, collection, processing and analysis to establish the baseline indicators, which rank the city compared to internationally recognized benchmarks.

SALTO EECA Multipliers Adventures in Adjara Eastern Statistics The SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre Support for Advanced Learning and Training Opportunities (SALTO–YOUTH) network within the YOUTH programme was created by the European Commission in the year 2000. SALTO supports quality development in European Youth in Action projects. It organises training courses and shares resources with European youth workers on diﬀ erent priority areas (geographic or thematic). The SALTO Network consists of 8 SALTO Resource Centres, based within diﬀ erent National Agencies of the Youth in Action Programme. More information can be found on www.salto-youth.net The SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre was established in Warsaw, Poland, in October 2003, on the basis of a European Commission decision. You know what you are doing but nobody else does.” ― Steuart Henderson Britt, Marketing Management and Administrative Action Companies spend thousands of dollars every month to place their advertising on these billboards. Usually they do not get return of investments, because the excessive amount of billboards makes the companies that advertise work on quantity not quality. Of course, if one uses half of the billboards of Yerevan, they will achieve their result, because the billboards that are positioned effectively will give a result and those which are positioned in a wrong place, will be a waste of money. To help marketing companies and businesses to make competent decisions, a research will be conducted. Answering the proposed research question will help advertisers and advertising agencies to optimize their work. People who seek means of advertising and cannot choose a proper tool will have a better understanding of the effectiveness of outdoor advertising. The research serves as a teaching material to marketing or advertising companies to learn more about the selection of advertising channels creation of a good message and to plan their media marketing campaigns accordingly. The marketing and advertising industry is rapidly moving itself into the internet and digitalizing the practice. It is vital to understand which traditional marketing and advertising channels are relevant nowadays to the advertisers and marketing professionals. Some practitioners consider some usual channels irrelevant and that those do not possess any common sense due to the fact that the internet industry and technology are developing very fast and it is easier to reach the potential audiences there.

The constitution provides for an elected president and a unicameral legislature (the National Assembly). The country has a multiparty political system. The significantly flawed February 2008 presidential election and violent break-up of ensuing protests that resulted in 10 deaths continued to fuel a political crisis that remained largely unresolved during the year and resulted in numerous human rights abuses. In April 2008 Serzh Sargsian of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) was sworn in as president, replacing Robert Kocharian. In the National Assembly, the RPA continued to dominate the ruling coalition, which decreased from four parties to three on April 27, when the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutiun) resigned from the coalition citing differences over the conduct of foreign policy. Civilian authorities generally maintained effective control of the security forces, although some members of the security forces continued to commit human rights abuses with impunity while under the direction of civilian leadership. Authorities restricted the right of citizens to freely change their government in mayoral elections in Yerevan. During the year authorities subjected citizens, particularly those considered by the government to be political opponents, to arbitrary arrest, detention, and imprisonment for their political activities; lengthy pretrial detention also continued to be a problem.
