Their idea came to fruition in 1962 when MATS held its first airdrop training competition. For the next several years the competition remained an annual event, but it fell by the wayside during the years of the United States' most intense participation in the Southeast Asia conflict. The airdrop competitions were reinstated in 1969 but were halted again in 1973, because of budget cuts and the reduced emphasis being given to airdrop operations. However, the esprit de corps engendered among the troops and the training benefits derived from the earlier events were not forgotten and prompted the competition's renewal in 1979 in its present form. Since 1979 the Rodeos have remained an important training event and tactical evaluation exercise for the Military Airlift Command. The following historical study deals with the origins, evolution, and results of the tactical airlift competitions in MATS and MAC. -

Air Force Sexual Assault Court-Martial Summaries 2010 March 2015 – The Air Force is committed to preventing, deterring, and prosecuting sexual assault in its ranks. This report contains a synopsis of sexual assault cases taken to trial by court-martial. The information contained herein is a matter of public record. This is the final report of this nature the Air Force will produce. All results of general and special courts-martial for trials occurring after 1 April 2015 will be available on the Air Force’s Court-Martial Docket Website (www.afjag.af.mil/docket/index.asp). SIGNIFICANT AIR FORCE SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE SUMMARIES 2010 – March 2015 Note: This report lists cases involving a conviction for a sexual assault offense committed against an adult and also includes cases where a sexual assault offense against an adult was charged and the member was either acquitted of a sexual assault offense or the sexual assault offense was dismissed, but the member was convicted of another offense involving a victim. The Air Force publishes these cases for deterrence purposes. Sex offender registration requirements are governed by Department of Defense policy in compliance with federal and state sex offender registration requirements. Not all convictions included in this report require sex offender registration. Beginning with July 2014 cases, this report also indicates when a victim was represented by a Special Victims’ Counsel. Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, sexual assaults against those 16 years of age and older are charged as crimes against adults. The appropriate disposition of sexual assault allegations and investigations may not always include referral to trial by court-martial. -

We have created the following policies for our communities with your comfort, convenience and safety in mind. Generally, you will find these resident guidelines will follow, to the greatest extent possible, those guidelines established by the applicable local Housing Office. General James V. Hartinger
GENERAL JAMES V. HARTINGER Retired July 31, 1984. Died Oct. 9, 2000. General James V. Hartinger is commander of the U.S. Air Force Space Command and commander in chief of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, with consolidated headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. General Hartinger was born in 1925, in Middleport, Ohio, where he graduated from high school in 1943. He received a bachelor of science degree from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., in 1949, and a master's degree in business administration from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in 1963. The general is also a graduate of Squadron Officer School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., in 1955 and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C., in 1966. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in July 1943 and attained the grade of sergeant while serving in the Infantry. Following World War II he entered the academy and upon graduation in 1949 was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. General Hartinger attended pilot training at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, and Williams Air Force Base, Ariz., where he graduated in August 1950. He then was assigned as a jet fighter pilot with the 36th Fighter-Bomber Wing at Furstenfeldbruck Air Base, Germany. In December 1952 the general joined the 474th Fighter-Bomber Wing at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea. While there he flew his first combat missions in F-84 Thunderjets. Returning to Williams Air Force Base in July 1953, he served as a gunnery instructor with the 3526th Pilot Training Squadron. -

I appreciate the invitation to be with you all, here in Flagstaff today, and to offer what I hope may be food for thought – and more – regarding the present re-consideration of the notions of Universal Service, the Universal Service Obligation , and the Postal Monopoly, and to join in on the discussion of these important topics. I am here as the owner and publisher of The Flute Network. We are a small entirely volunteer entity now closing in on the end of our 24 th year of service as a “bulletin board service” for flutists, flute teachers, and the people who love these kinds of folks. In addition to a website presence (which has become absolutely requisite in recent years for businesses of all kinds), we continue to organize and publish an adletter of typically 8 – 12 pages, which goes out free of charge 9 times a year, now to some 6,100 different subscribers nationwide. It is on behalf of our subscribers, and all those whom we serve by including their notices, that we’ve been tracking the flow of Flute Network mailings over the years. As with most such things, the timely receipt of our mailings is a large part of what keeps them valuable – for example, it does no good to learn of a concert or other event that one might have wanted to attend, two weeks after it happened. What is frustrating is when this kind of thing happens and those notices had actually been mailed three weeks before those events, and by the Post Office’s own standards should have been received by all in plenty of time. -
