1966 FERRARI 275 GTB/C Rosso Chiaro with Blue SOLD Mileage N/A miles Engine Capacity 3285cc Body Style Coupe Fuel Petrol Transmission Manual Chassis No. 09041 A 9000 series competition 275 is the only variant to carry the official GTB/C model designation from the factory. Only 12 of these special cars were ever produced, the bodies were constructed from 20 gauge aluminium, which is approximately half the thickness of a normal alloy-bodied car. The engine was provided with dry sump lubrication, although a believed error in the submission of the homologation forms for the new car omitted to mention the six carburettor option, thus they had to run with only a triple carburettor assembly. However, the carburettors were specific to this series of cars, being a trio of twin choke Weber 40 DF13 models without cold start choke assemblies, featuring elegantly formed rearward curved intake trumpets. The compression ratio was raised slightly from the standard 9.2:1 to 9.3:1 using special pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft, whilst Nimonic steel inlet and exhaust valves were fitted, the latter being sodium filled to aid heat dissipation. A larger bore exhaust system, with two separate pairs of free flow manifolds per bank, aided hasty exhaust gas passage. TINENT ON AL C O D W N N A E Lincoln and R Lincoln and N L S C O C FOUNDED L CONFAB U N 1955 CONFAB I B L Continental WESTERN REGION Western Region Lincoln and Continental Owners Club Publication Volume 42 No 7, September, 2013 Presidential 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan “Bubbletop” Limousine, the orange Boano Lincoln Indianapolis Coupe which was a 1955 show car, and a specially painted 2013 Lincoln MKZ. Other Lincolns on display were William Clay Ford’s 1956 Continental Mark II convertible, several classic Lincolns from the twenties and thirties, and a 1956 Continental Mark II originally owned by Elizabeth Taylor. Originally the Western Region planned to have a special class as they did in 1995 but that plan was cancelled due to lack of participation. We are not sure how many, if any, Western Region members attended without cars. One Western Region mem- ber, Jim Ayres, did attend and took these photos. More of his photos appear on Lincoln Honored at Pebble Beach 2013 page 4. For the first time since its 75th Anniversary in 1995 Lincoln was one of the honored marques at the 63rd edition Left, of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance “Bubbltop,” the third weekend of August. Below, This year the concours, held Sunday, Anne August 18, honored Lincoln, Simplex, Ford Vanvooren Coachwork, Aston Martin Mark II. Le prime automobili prodotte dalla casa milanese nacquero nel 1902: una con un motore Aster di 699 cm3, una a due cilindri di 2251 cm3 ed infine una con un motore De Dion-Bouton di 785 cm3. Nel 1903 l'azienda produsse una vettura equipaggiata con motore autocostruito della potenza di 24 CV. Storia Nel 1905 l'ingegnere Giustino Cattaneo diventò direttore tecnico del marchio milanese e ad esso rimarrà legato fino al 1933. Nel 1907,in seguito ad un accordo che prevedeva anche la partecipazione dei francesi al capitale azionario della azienda, De Dietrich acquisì i diritti per la produzione di 500 autotelai Isotta Fraschini. Questo fatto, unito anche ai successi nelle competizioni sportive, ebbe un grande effetto positivo sul prestigio della Casa. Un altro successo di Isotta Fraschini avvenne nel 1908, quando negli USA una vettura appartenente alla Casa milanese stabilì un record di velocità media: 105 km/h. Sempre nel 1908 venne progettata la Tipo FE, un'auto dalle caratteristiche tecniche molto avanzate per l'epoca che suscitò grande interesse, così come ne destò la Tipo KM, un'auto sportiva prodotta dal 1911 al 1914, equipaggiata con un motore di ben 10.618 cm3. -

Interview mit Piero Ferrari ______________________ Als sich Enzo Ferrari Ende der 1930er Jahre selbstständig machen wollte, suchte er einen Kreditgeber. Er fand ihn im italienischen Reifenhersteller PIRELLI. Piero Pirelli, um genau zu sein. Aus Dankbarkeit für diesen 15 Milliarden Lire-Kredit, der das solide Fundament für die Entwicklung, Konstruktion und Fertigung des ersten 12-Zylinder-Ferrari-Motors unter Ingenieur Colombo und die Zukunft des Unternehmens FERRARI sein sollte, gab Enzo Ferrari wohl seinem zweitgeborenen Sohn den Namen Piero. Zweitgeborener Sohn deshalb, weil der Erstgeborene namens Alfredino - abgekürzt Dino - trotz engagierter Bemühungen seiner Mutter Laura und seines die Krankheit akribisch schriftlich dokumentierenden Vaters Enzo im Jahre 1956 an Multipler Sklerose verstarb. Beide Söhne zeigten sich dem Erbe ihres Vaters würdig. Beide waren und sind begnadete Techniker und Ingenieure, die durch ihre Konstruktion von Motoren dem Unternehmen Ferrari, Piero aber auch für das mit 42.000 verkauften Motorrädern der italienischen Marke DUCATI im Jahre 2010, dem bisher erfolgreichsten Jahr in der Firmengeschichte, für Anerkennung, mehr noch: für Furore gesorgt haben. Der Markenname DINO, für die in den 1960er Jahren gebauten Sportwagen mit dem von Dino Ferrari gezeichneten 6-Zylinder-Motoren in hoher Mindest-Stückzahl für die rennsportliche Registrierung als Formel 2-Motor, gilt als zuverlässiges und erfolgreiches Bindeglied für die seit 1969 praktizierte Erfolgsehe mit dem Unternehmen FIAT des Avocato Gianni Agnelli und seiner Ehefrau, der Marquesa Carraciolo, in Turin-Italien. Hinter vorgehaltener Hand geben Mitarbeiter von Ferrari sogar preis, Piero sei nicht nur für die Konstruktion und den Einsatz des überaus erfolgreichen Ferrari-Sportwagens 333 verantwortlich gewesen, sondern habe auch die technische Zuständigkeit in Sachen Weltmeister-Motoren von Michael Schumacher in der Formel 1 der Jahre 2000 bis 2004 zu verantworten gehabt. -

A friend of mine has a beautiful black Alfa Romeo Montreal. He calls her Lukrécia, and the car works as flawlessly as such a machine can—because it lives at Alfarium, a shop where they can deal with its dry-sump 2.6 liter V8's crazy SPICA fuel injection and all the wiring that wasn't quite finished at the factory. That's why I trust them with my Autobianchi, a slightly less complex beast. Lukrécia even made it to the pages of Petrolicious before, but now, it was time for photographer/illustrator TJ Grewal's beautiful blue Montreal to become their latest star. TJ ended up buying the first Montreal he ever saw—importing it from Italy—and as somebody who spends a lot of time in his studio appreciating the details of such cars, he couldn't be happier about getting this Bertone classic. Alfa Romeo built less than 4000 Montreals in the middle of the oil crisis, naming the production version of the concept car after the Canadian Expo it was made for. -
