Handball, Kendo, and Ultimate Frisbee are to be worth eight, four six points this year respectively, having been exhibition matches last year. These additions could bode well for the White Rose, having won two of the three fixtures in Ultimate Frisbee last year. Many are predicting this year’s tournament to be much closer than the last 75 point, home victory for York so any additions to the fixture list could prove pivotal. Completely new to the tournament are Rugby League and Futsal. The addition of Futsal to the Roses calendar bodes well for York. Lancaster’s Futsal club is still in its infancy, and with York’s equivalent one of the best in the country, it could be a reliable source of points for the Black and Gold this year. History will also be made, with the addition of the Roses tournament’s first disabled sport, sitting Volleyball. The fixture, which will be covered and live tweeted by Nouse, is set to take place in the Main Hall of the Sports Centre at 14:30 on Friday 24 April.

Welcome & introduction of new committee members The Chair welcomed Gavin Brown who was standing in for Peter Scullion as the Colleges’ Representative. 3. Minutes of the previous meeting and matters arising Reports from the July disbursement projects were circulated prior to the meeting with the committee papers. Two official reports were still outstanding from Grizedale and Bowland. However, Grizedale have verbally reported that due to them undergoing major refurbishment and construction, they wish to postpone spending their grant in case the benches get damaged. In the July meeting the committee had agreed that greater emphasis should be placed on the need for reports from awardees when informed of their grants. As a result, a report form haqs been created which will be sent to awardees with their confirmation letter as a matter of course, with a request that they must be returned before a set deadline. These forms were sent out to awardees from the July 07 meeting and consequently we had a better return of reports. Since the agenda for this meeting was circulated a new issue had come to light. In 2004, Student Support were awarded a grant of £800 to conduct market research into the effectiveness of a web- based overview of support services at Lancaster University.
