Anam Cara is holding its monthly parent evening NEXT Thursday 19th from 19:30 - 21:00 at The Family Centre, Castlebar, Mayo. This event is free, open to all bereaved parents and each Anam Cara support group has a bereavement professional present to answer any questions parents may have and signpost them to other services that are available in the area.

St Joseph’s Cluster - Year of Faith : Fr Eamonn Conway will speak in St John’s Rest and Care Centre, Knock NEXT Tuesday 17th at 8p.m. Fr Eamonn is a priest of the Archdiocese of and is head of theology in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. The title of the talk is: The New Evangelization, Challenges and Opportunities. The evening is organised by St Josephs’s Cluster and you are welcome to come along.

'Mayo, God Help Us', a documentary on Mayo football from 1951 to 2013 will be screened on TG4 at 8pm on Sunday 15th September. They will be talking to former players from all eras and look forward to their encounter with Dublin in the All Final.

Foróige Club. Registration Night is NEXT Friday, 20th from 7.30 - 8pm in the New Parish Centre. Foróige clubs are a fun, safe place for young people to hang out, meet friends, and get involved in loads of cool activities and outings. Group Water Scheme Notice. The local group water scheme has now been “Taken in Charge” by Galway County Council. The scheme covers the areas of , Lackagh Village, Waterview, Ballybrone, Ballyglass, Monard, Part of Coolarne, Lackaghmore, Lackagh Road, Lackaghbeg, KnockdoeBeg east and west, and part of Cahernahoon. Should anyone living in these areas have any issue with the water, or require a connection to the scheme, they should now contact Galway County Council water services department directly 091-476401. The Trustees are no longer responsible for any matters regarding supply or maintenance of the scheme.

‘Until There Is A Cure’ - Alzheimer’s CARE education workshops The first ever county wide series of educational workshops for families of people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia will be held this September. Marking World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21st, Home Instead Senior Care will host 1000 free Alzheimer’s CARE education workshops worldwide, with 30 throughout Ireland and six in . The County Galway locations are Ballinasloe, Tuam, Gort, Clifden, Galway City East and Galway City West. The workshops are of two hours duration and take place on the following dates and times : 16th – Clayton Hotel from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, 18th Ard Ri Hotel Tuam from 2:30pm to 4:30pm and 18th in the Ardilaun Hotel from 7pm – 9pm.If you or a friend has a family member who is suffering from Dementia these workshops will provide an invaluable insight into understanding the disease and recognizing the symptoms.
