Buy a Block: On June 21st Scoil Padraig Naofa, Cregmore, will officially open their newly and long awaited extension, consisting of a Sports Hall, Classrooms, Resource and Learning Support Rooms and ancillary facilities. This innovative project which is being part funded by the Department of Education and Skills is an essential requirement for what is fast becoming one of the larger rural Primary Schools in Galway, with a pupil enrolment of 252 and a staff of 18. This modern building, designed by local man Michael Costello and constructed by Carey Developments of Galway is nearing completion and final works are being carried out. However, in order to complete the project to the very highest standard, the school community have recently launched a “Buy a Block” initiative, where they are inviting 200 generous donors to commit €50 each towards this project. In turn, an individual specially commissioned plaque representing each contributor / family will be placed on a designated board in the main entrance hallway. This plaque will be officially unveiled at the official opening on June 21st next. It is hoped that parents, past pupils, families, parishioners and friends of Scoil Padraig Naofa will be generous in supporting this endeavor. Anyone wishing to “Buy a block” can do so by either calling the school on 091-799037, writing directly to the school or e-mail the school at [email protected] “Building the future of our children, together” ------Notices for the Lackagh Parish Newsletter: must be emailed or submitted in writing for inclusion.
