Th. Fr. streems and tarns; in subalpine to subnival belts (c. 1670-2380 m - Sedielko, Z. Hab./Distr.: On exposed granite and mylonite rocks, rarely on mossy ~ound; m mont~ne to Kyselova et H. Mayrhofer). This species is known from Europe, Greenland, Antarctica, subnival belts (c. 800- 2630 m - Lomnick:Y s., !, hitherto the htghest record m ~e New Zealand and the Himalayas and it has probably a circumboreal and bipolar, arctic Carpathians). A common species, recorded already by Wahlenberg ~1814). lt "has a ~tde alpine distribution (Nimis 1993). It was also reported from C. Siberia (Zhurbenko 1996). distribution in Europe, from northernmost Scandinavia to the Medtterranean mountams, VT: Batizovske pl. (Suza 1922, 1923, 1926b); Be1ianska kopa (Kyse1ovä 1995); Bystre s.
