Last year, due to Covid-19 and the health of each one of you, we made the decision to push our sale W back to the Saturday before Memorial Day. At the time of writing last year’s sale letter, we never imagined that Covid-19 would still be considered a current event going on in our world today. While there is still a world of unknowns, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. roughout the course of the past several weeks, both live cattle and fat cattle prices have seen a tremendous increase, with fall futures being very promising. As for most of you reading this, we had a tough, cold, wet winter. While much has changed since the writing of our last lette r— namely feed costs and rising gas prices, one thing is certain, and that is our focus to provide you with the most fault-free genetics we can. We are able to do what we love each and every day by the support of each of you. It seems as though we say it each year, but this is the best set of cattle we have ever offered. Like John, Randa, Harper and John Owen Starnes each of you, our goal is to get better each year, so it may seem like a rhetorical statement, but we believe it to be true each time we write it. e fall split pairs are the deepest, most uniform set we have had the pleasure to share with you, with most of them being first-calf heifers. e fall heifer calf splits being offered are as deep a set of calves as we have ever put together. ere are some true sale features within both breeds in the spring pair division, most with heifer calves selling alongside their dam. e calves at side offer breed-leading EPDs without sacrificing the basics we breed for: depth of body, udder integrity, foot quality and the look that we desire. ree very exciting lots are spring ET heifer calves right from the heart of our herd that are true donor prospects that we hope will make an impact for their new owners. Within both breeds, the quality Roland and Janet Starnes is incredibly deep. We think you will like what you see come sale day, and that is always our goal. We are truly blessed to work side by side with our family and loved ones. Living and working with family on our cattle operation is something we don’t take for granted, and we are forever grateful to the good Lord above for the blessings of being able to do what we love. We can’t thank “Da” Roland, Nonnie, Poppy and Mimi enough for all they do here at TRM and for us as a family. Joseph and his wife, Whitney, have been here almost three years and have been a blessing to TRM. Stephanie keeps everything rolling at Lookout Mountain Genetics. New additions to our working family are Tyler Griggs and Chuck Wright, who have both been great new assets to our operation. It’s said the days are long, but the years are short. Ranch life sure makes that statement ring true, Joseph and Whitney Johnson as we work sun up ’til sun down. Honesty and integrity are something we take very seriously, and our motto is quite simple: We raise the type and kind of livestock that are stout, sound and functional and can flat get the work done all while having respectable EPD profiles. We have never chased EPD fads and breed for a more uniform, balanced animal that can thrive in our Southeastern environment. Everything we know about the cattle, you will too. Our customers, both big and small, mean the world to us, and we realize that without each and every one of you, none of what we do would be possible. We are forever indebted to our past, present and future customers. Please make plans to join us Friday, April 30 to view the cattle and enjoy fellowship. If you ever Tyler and Brandi Griggs need anything, or if we can help you in any way, please don’t hesitate to call anyone here at the ranch. We appreciate you and value your friendship more than you could imagine. We are blessed to call TRM customers our friends and colleagues, and we would love the opportunity to work FRIDAY, APRIL 30 with you. Cattle available for viewing.
