Det är inte en överdrift. Det är snarare en förvarning! Och det är inte en dag försent. - The R’n’R God sent us Leather Nun and I fucking love them, som videoregissören Jonas Åkerlund (Prodigy, Madonna, Metallica, U2 m fl) formulerat det. The Leather Nun, Lädernunnan eller ”Nunnan” – kärt barn har många namn. Det lilla rockbandet från den tidiga punkens Göteborg, som körde över sina brittiska och amerikanska kollegor och blev Sveriges första riktiga musikexport efter ABBA. Under ledning av bandets grundare, sångare och låtskrivare Jonas Almquist, återförenades det legendariska 80-tals bandet i studion i januari 2014. Bara trummisen Gert Claesson (som för länge sedan lagt trumpinnarna på hyllan) saknas, men ersätts förtjänstfullt av bl a Michael Blair (Tom Waits, Lou Reed). Nya ansikten skymtar också, bl a gitarristen Carlos Sepúlveda från legendariska svenska Psycore och Brooklyn-basisten Jeff Virgo. Om nya skivan säger Jonas: - På ett plan, knyter albumet ihop ett antal trådar. På ett annat plan är albumet ett antal nycklar framåt. På ett tredje plan är albumet som en upptäcktsresa. Albumet har varit ett laborativt arbete, där människor och idéer flödat kreativt. Vi har gått tillbaka till utgångspunkten för Nunnan och varför Nunnan en gång uppstod. För att göra något inga andra gjorde. För att fylla upp ett tomrum. Och för att provocera tunnelseendet i synen på rockmusik i Sverige och världen då och nu. Skivan som man döpt till ”Whatever” släpps den 17 April och några veckor senare, den 9 Maj ställer sig ”The Leather Nun” på Södra Teaterns scen för en exklusiv spelning. Tärningen är kastad! Nu är The Leather Nun tillbaka för att återta sin tätposition. ”Whatever” släpps worldwide den 17 April på Wild Kingdom Records / Sound Pollution. And in a way we had, starting from scratch to a full service publication some 140 stations deep. But in the 12 months since, it has become readily apparent that we were barely walking then. We've extended our reporter roster well past the 200 mark; Our New Alternative and Hard Rock sections have inspired numerous imitators, and our combi- nation of high technology and people power has effectively re -defined what a tip sheet can and will be in the years to come.

This model was expanded upon by musicians in England and Germany during the late-1970s who developed the popular music style called Industrial as a fusion of experimental popular music sounds, performance art theatricality, and avant-garde composition.
