Within the Sonoma Valley appellation and overlapping a portion of both Sonoma Mountain and the Sonoma Coast, our well-drained mountain benchland soils combine with early morning fog and cool marine breezes to create ideal conditions for growing exceptional cool-climate varietals. Bennett Valley has earned a reputation for crisp, beautifully structured white wines and distinctive cool-climate Syrah. With just 650 planted acres, Bennett Valley is one of the smaller Sonoma County appellations. Our 36 primarily family-owned vineyards average less than 20 acres each. At harvest time, you’ll often find our grower-owners and their family and friends out in the fields working alongside the harvest crews. There is an obvious passion here, and our growers believe deeply in the emerging potential of this relatively new AVA. The valley itself is peaceful and serene. We have just one winery open to the public (Matanzas Creek) but you’ll find our appellation listed on some of the most sought-after wine artisan labels in California: Dumol, Morlet, Carlisle, Tor Kenward and Pax, to name just a few. In addition, there are a handful of recently established grower brands, many based in warehouse production facilities that cater to small lot, artisan winemaking. While their focus may vary, all are committed to crafting wines that are true to their vineyards and unique appellation. • Sonoma County Pinot Noir
2019 sonoma county pinot noir We’ve been making wine in Sonoma County for over ten years now and along the way, established a dynamic network of friends and colleagues that include vineyard owners, growers and winemakers. While we successfully navigated and maneuvered our way through the négoce market in the past, Valravn represents the next evolutionary step for us. Because of those forged relationships and friendships, we have exclusive access to grapes from fantastic vineyards and the team to oversee hands-on production from vineyard to bottle. We are proud of our past achievements and excited to realize the culmination of a decade of learning and focus, bringing authentic wines to the table that we have found, seen, and touched at every step. Valravn wines are out of the gate approachable, delicious, and table ready. VINEYARDS & WINEMAKING Valravn Pinot Noir is an exploration of Sonoma County, anchored in the Russian River Valley.
