Deer shared her hopes for a "progressive federal/tribal partnership" during her tenure with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. In this feature, the American Indian Law Review presents a written forum in which Native American leaders communicate with Assistant Secretary Deer, and with the Native American legal communi- ty.
