The two articles, taken from the yearbook Almogaren (2019 & 2020) and reproduced here, describe the artistical development of a Guanche burial cave in contemporary encyclopedias and other illustrated books of the 18th and 19th century. The first design of the scene – a subterranean necropole in the south-east of Tenerife, Canary Islands – was made by the French painter and engraver Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger (Paris 1746).
