RULES OF PLAY FOR SLCC 2015
GAMES All games are played over 8 ends. All games must be decided. If a game is tied after 8 ends, one extra end will be played. If the game still is tied, the team without hammer in extra end is the winner, except from the Play-Off games where additional extra ends will be used to decide the winner. There are no time clocks, but teams will be required to adhere to the scheduled game plan. Teams are allowed one 1 minute timeout per game and with an additional 1 minute timeout in extra end.
TEAM LINE UP For your first game an Original Team Line-Up Form must be completed and submitted to the Umpires and thereafter if there are any team changes or a change in the team rotation a Change of Team Line-Up form must be submitted before the start of the game. All forms are available from the Umpires.
PRE-GAME PRACTICE 30 minutes before the game coin-toss is used to decide who starts the practice. 20 minutes before the game the practice starts and is allowed for 5 minutes/team.
HAMMER The hammer is decided by Last Stone Draw. At the conclusion of each team’s pre-game practice, two stones will be delivered to the tee at the home end, by different players the first stone with a clockwise and the second with a counter-clockwise rotation. Sweeping is allowed
The result is measured and will be compared to next opponent’s result. Closest to the button will have the choice of throwing first or second in the first end. If the LSD totals for both teams are the same the individual LSD stones are compared and the best-unequal LSD has the choice of delivering first or second stone in the first end. When both teams have the exact same individual LSD stone distances, a coin toss will be used to determine that choice.
All stones finishing in the house are measured. Stones that do not finish in the house are recorded as 185.4 cm (6 ft. 1 in.) Stones that finish so close to the tee that they cannot be measured are recorded as 0.0 cm.
STONE COLORS Stone colors are decided by the team’s position in the draw. MEDIA GUIDE
PLAY-OFF TEAM RANKING PROCEDURE 1. Teams will be ranked according to their win/loss record. 2. If two teams are tied, they will play a Tie Break game. 3. Where three or more teams are tied, the record of the games between the tied teams shall provide the ranking to decide the two teams in the Tie Break game.
4. For all remaining teams whose ranking cannot be determined by (1) or (2) or (3), ranking is determined using the Draw Shot Challenge (DSC). The DSC is the average distance of the Last Stone Draws (LSD) which were played by a team during the round robin portion of a competition. The team with the lesser DSC receives the higher ranking. If the DSCs are equal, then the team with the best non-equal LSD receives the higher ranking. In case all LSDs are equal, the team ranked higher in the WCF World Rankings is ranked higher.
GAME TIMING Game Timing may be used in the play-off games.
TECHNICAL DEVICES It is allowed for the team to use microphone, transmitter and receiver for one-way recording of the player communication for later use in training purpose.
If the transmitter or receiver frequencies interferes with the organizers TV-production or else, the organizers will forbid the use of the equipment.
WCF RULES APPLY In all other matters the current WCF rules will apply.
In any adjudication the decision of the Chief Umpire is final. MEDIA GUIDE
