Memoria 2013-2014 MEMORIA 2013-2014 CURLING Club Hielo Txuri-Berri Curling Temporada 13-14 Donostia, 20 de mayo de 2014 La sección de Curling del Club Hielo Txuri-Berri califica una vez más de excelente la temporada realizada por sus jugadores tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Como logro más importante, cabe destacar que el Club Hielo Txuri-Berri ha disputado 3 de las 4 finales posibles de los pasados Campeonatos de España en sus diferentes modalidades (absoluto femenino, mixto y dobles mixtos), consiguiendo proclamarse campeón de España absoluto femenino por segunda vez en su historia. Eso significa que dicho equipo representará al equipo nacional en el próximo Campeonato de Europa Absoluto 2014 (grupo C). En la modalidad mixta, el equipo Txuri-Berri Cafés Aitona igualó el segundo puesto conseguido la temporada pasada. En la modalidad de dobles mixtos, se consiguieron un segundo y tercer puesto, donde el triunfo fue para la pareja del Iparpolo Sergio e Irantzu (ganadores en 6 ocasiones del título de Campeones de España). El tercer equipo Txuri-Berri finalizó en 6ª posición. En modalidad masculina, el C.H. Txuri-Berri no pudo revalidar su título de campeón de España y terminó en un meritorio 5º puesto, debido a una baja de última hora, lo que supuso tener que jugar el campeonato con solo 3 jugadores. A nivel Internacional, el mayor reto de la temporada fue la participación del equipo absoluto masculino en el Campeonato de Europa (grupoB) disputado en Stavanger (Noruega), como miembros de la selección nacional. El equipo masculino logró una meritoria 11ª posición final y el objetivo de la permanencia. Cosecharon 2 victorias (Eslovaquia 7-4 y Rumania 8-6) frente a 5 derrotas (Alemania, Italia, Estonia, Inglaterra y Turquia). El equipo tuvo la gran suerte de contar como entrenador para dicho campeonato, con el canadiense Mike Harris, medallista de plata en los JJ.OO de Nagano 1998. Nuestra jugadora más joven, Iera Irazusta también participó con la selección nacional, disputando el European Junior Curling Challenge en Lohja (Finlandia), prueba clasificatoria para el Campeonato del Mundo Junior. Capitaneó un equipo joven, sin experiencia internacional, y a pesar de ello consiguieron una meritoria novena posición final, con un balance de 1 victoria por 4 derrotas. Por su parte, el equipo femenino, volvió a participar en 3 pruebas del Curling Champions Tour (Women’s Masters Basel, ZO Women’s Tournament y Bernese Ladies Cup) compitiendo contra las mejores jugadoras del mundo y consiguiendo las 2 primeras victorias del equipo en el Tour. El CCT destaca por el altísimo nivel de los equipos participantes, en un año Olímpico como éste, el equipo del C.H. Txuri-Berri se enfrentó a dos de los 10 equipos que participaron en los pasados JJ.OO. de Sochi (Suiza y China). El equipo masculino del C.H.Txuri Berri participó por primera vez en el CCT masculino, en el Thompson Curling Challenge (Urdorf, Suiza) enfrentándose a los equipos más punteros del panorama masculino. También cabe destacar que el Club Hielo Txuri-Berri, además de las pruebas anteriormente mencionadas, ha participado en 2 torneos internacionales Bern Inter (Berna, Suiza) con 2 equipos y Tournoi de Clôture (Morges, Suiza). Haciéndose con la tercera posición final en el Tournoi de Clôture. A nivel nacional, el C.H. Txuri-Berri participó con un equipo en la II. Edición del Torneo de Curling Ciudad de Jaca donde acabo en primer lugar, haciéndose con el trofeo de vencedor del torneo. Cabe señalar, que todos los miembros del club realizaron un stage en el mes de agosto en el centro de alto rendimiento en Champery (Suiza), dirigido por dos prestigiosos entrenadores Mike Harris e Ian Tetley, ambos canadienses. En dicho centro, disponen de tecnología específica para medir diferentes parámetros del curling (lanzamiento y barrido) únicos en Europa. The programme will allow children to develop a healthy lifestyle through curling by improving/developing skills, working in a team/group environment in their own community and feeding into the local club when appropriate and continue to play into adulthood.

Points earned in this event also count for the World Curling Tour. The 2015 event will be held from September 25-27 in the Danderyd Curling Arena. 20 of the world’s top women’s curling teams will play each other for the 2015 title. The event is a co-operation between Stocksunds Curlingklubb, the Swedish Curling Association and the Curling Champions Tour. This year, the purse for the event is 270,000 SEK.
