Como logro más importante, cabe destacar que el Club Hielo Txuri-Berri ha disputado 3 de las 4 finales posibles de los pasados Campeonatos de España en sus diferentes modalidades (absoluto femenino, mixto y dobles mixtos), consiguiendo proclamarse campeón de España absoluto femenino por segunda vez en su historia. Eso significa que dicho equipo representará al equipo nacional en el próximo Campeonato de Europa Absoluto 2014 (grupo C). En la modalidad mixta, el equipo Txuri-Berri Cafés Aitona igualó el segundo puesto conseguido la temporada pasada. En la modalidad de dobles mixtos, se consiguieron un segundo y tercer puesto, donde el triunfo fue para la pareja del Iparpolo Sergio e Irantzu (ganadores en 6 ocasiones del título de Campeones de España). El tercer equipo Txuri-Berri finalizó en 6ª posición. En modalidad masculina, el C.H. Txuri-Berri no pudo revalidar su título de campeón de España y terminó en un meritorio 5º puesto, debido a una baja de última hora, lo que supuso tener que jugar el campeonato con solo 3 jugadores. A nivel Internacional, el mayor reto de la temporada fue la participación del equipo absoluto masculino en el Campeonato de Europa (grupoB) disputado en Stavanger (Noruega), como miembros de la selección nacional. El equipo masculino logró una meritoria 11ª posición final y el objetivo de la permanencia.

    150 NOTABLE MANITOBA CURLING TEAMS In honour of Manitoba’s 150 th Anniversary, the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame and Museum has undertaken to identify 150 teams which played a significant role in creating (in the early years) and extending (in more recent times) Manitoba’s reputation for competitive excellence in the world of curling. Our list acknowledges teams from all competitive sectors from the high-profile junior and men’s and women’s teams to less well-known teams at the mixed, senior, and masters levels and even outside the association realm in the deaf, police and postal championship realms. All of these successful teams played roles in establishing Manitoba’s well-deserved reputation. We also acknowledge recent successes in the new discipline of Mixed Doubles but this historical perspective is focussed on the traditional four-person game. INVITATION TO THE PUBLIC TO ADD TO THE LIST: A total of 150 teams were identified initially. Subsequently two missed teams have been added so the list now includes 152 teams. There are many other teams across Manitoba’s curling history which also belong on a listing of this nature. Manitoba curling fans are invited to suggest other teams for inclusion. In most cases, the teams are included on this list on the basis of the team’s on-ice success in a single outstanding year OR across a series of years. In the latter case, we have acknowledged that so long as three people remained on a team from a previous recorded success – then it was still the same team.

A morning Media Conference was held to bring local media up to date about the progress of the STOH and to introduce Team Canada … Jennifer Jones, Cathy Overton-Clapham, Jill Officer and Georgina Wheatcroft (photo, from right to left). Reporters and photographers from the London area viewed a promotional video about the Scott Tournament of Hearts (taking place in London from February 25 to March 5 at the JLC), took photos of Canada’s “Number One” curling team, and participated in a question-and-answer session with Peter Inch and Jennifer Jones and the members of her team. As well, the media and several LCC members had the opportunity to meet and greet the 2005 STOH second-place skip Jenn Hanna, whose spectacular performance in the final game of the 2005 women’s final has made her a fan favourite.
