Best Of British Car Run Sunday 10th March 2019 A typical Best of British Sunday morning start at the Victoria Street Carpark with a bit of a chill in the air welcomed the start crew at around 8 30 am. Ross and Veneta Allan and Carleen and myself were the Rover Car Club volun- teers .Joining six other car club representatives in organising the parking and starting procedures and documentation. A 9 am start was envisaged with several British cars commenced departing then the start line went dead as drivers continued their conversations at the groups of cars..Follo0wing some procedural changes the event proceded smoothly after a hurry along among the drivers was made. Finally about 10 15am we were able to depart for the run to Dunback. At Palmerston the Rover Car Club met at the usual Café for a Cuppa and Natter before continuing to Dunback. Ray Pillay and Rebacca Fox had headed to Dunback earlier to set up the gazabos on the Rover allocated site for us. These proved a boon in the cloudy weather when the temperature dropped and shelter was required.. After a pleasant lunch and wander around the British cars on display, the prize giving was made and departure commenced around 3 pm. Club turnout was :- Ross & Veneta Allan 1964 Rover P4 110. A recent addition to the local Dunedin Rover fleet was a 1974 Rover P6B purchased by Moray & Margaret Mc Kenzie who joined our group in the gazabos. Best Of British Prize List.
