SPECIFIC SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS ST HELENA’S SCHOOL, COLCHESTER Routes 16/16A will operate to the following new route and timetable from September:- Route 16 Map Route 16 Route Description Route 16A map Route 16A Description Pupils requiring route 16A will need to wait on the opposite side of the road. These buses will only be available to students at St Helena’s School. Please follow the zoning guidelines on the buses:- UPSTAIRS Front yr 9 Middle yr 10 Back yr 11 DOWNSTAIRS Front yr 7 Rear yr 8 These zones will be indicated by the coloured stickers displayed around the bus – try and leave a row of seats between zones if there is space. HEDINGHAM SCHOOL, SIBLE HEDINGHAM Please follow the zoning guidelines on the buses:- UPSTAIRS Front year 9 Middle year 10 Back years 11-13 DOWNSTAIRS Front year 7 Rear year 8 On single-deckers the zoning guidelines are years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 front to back. Route 89 will only be carrying Hedingham school students between Halstead and the school. There are adult users on this bus between Braintree and Halstead whom we will ask to use the adult zone at the front of the lower deck to ensure social distancing. These zones will be indicated by the coloured stickers displayed around the bus – try and leave a row of seats between zones if there is space. PLUME SCHOOL, MALDON Please follow the zoning guidelines on the buses:- UPSTAIRS Front year 9 Middle year 10 Back years 11-13 DOWNSTAIRS Front year 7 Rear year 8 These zones will be indicated by the coloured stickers displayed around the bus – try and leave a row of seats between zones if there is space. Public buses Students using route 95A from Tollesbury should avoid the adult zone at the front downstairs of the bus in order to allow sufficient space for the small number of adult passengers to remain socially distanced at the front of the bus. We will also be providing an additional departure from Tolleshunt d’Arcy so that route 95A is less busy. Students using route D1 from Dengie are asked to sit together at the rear of the bus. This will allow sufficient space for adults to remain socially distanced at the front of the bus. Please try and sit next to someone in your own year group. We will ask our small number of regular adult passengers on routes 95A and D1 to use the adult zone at the front (of the lower deck) to ensure social distancing. STANWAY SCHOOL Routes 901 to 904 will only be available to students at Stanway School. HONYWOOD SCHOOL Route 910 will only be available to students at Honywood School. THOMAS LORD AUDLEY Route 19 and contract buses A and B will only be available to students at Thomas Lord Audley School. Public buses Students using route 3 from Clacton or Harwich (Lower School), and students using route 97 from Clacton and Holland (Upper School) should sit together at the rear of the bus. This will allow sufficient space for adults to remain socially distanced at the front of the bus. An additional bus will be provided for TTC Upper School students at 0744 from Clacton Pier Avenue and 1520 from the school grounds, which will only be available to TTC students. Please sit next to someone in your own year group. CLACTON COUNTY HIGH/CLACTON COASTAL ACADEMY Public buses Students use a variety of buses to travel to school. A larger number of children travel together on public buses from Jaywick and Point Clear/St Osyth. Students using these busy buses should sit together at the rear of the bus. This will allow sufficient space for adults to remain socially distanced at the front of the bus. Please sit next to someone in your own year group. Year 7 should sit in the fifth row of seats, with years 8 – 11 in consecutive rows behind them. COLCHESTER SIXTH FORM COLLEGE/INSTITUTE NORMAN WAY SCHOOLS We carry a large number of students into the centre of Colchester. Most users purchase tickets directly from us and we are not aware of the school/college to which they belong. We ask that students from the same school/college sit together on public buses. In particular we ask for sixth-formers to sit upstairs alongside other students from their college and in their year group. In order to increase the amount of space available, and in order accommodate older members of the public safely on public service buses we will be providing some larger and additional buses. We expect the following journeys into and out of Colchester to be particularly busy and plan to provide extra seats as follows:- Route 88 0650 Halstead to Colchester Additional bus provided from Halstead for Colchester Sixth Form students – please use the extra bus rather than the double-decker from Halstead. 0750 Halstead to Colchester An additional bus will be provided from Earls Colne onwards for Colchester Sixth Form students – please use the extra bus rather than the double-decker 1605 Colchester to Halstead Please make sure that you use available upstairs seats and sit with fellow students to allow for other passengers in the socially distanced zone at the front downstairs Route 92 0743 Tollesbury to Colchester – we will provide a double-decker Routes 84 and 756 756 - 0715 Sudbury to Norman Way Schools and 1554 Norman Way Schools to Sudbury 84 – 0657 Sudbury to Norman Way Schools and 1550 Norman Way Schools to Sudbury An additional relief bus will probably be provided (please check our website for updates) from Sudbury, Great Cornard, Nayland Turning, Great Horkesley and Mile End for Colchester Sixth Form students only. Please use this additional single-deck bus if you attend Colchester Sixth Form to allow more space on the normal double-deckers for school groups sitting together and our small number of regular adult passengers socially distanced at the front downstairs. Route 76/X76 0653 Jaywick & Clacton to Colchester Please make sure that you use available upstairs seats and sit with fellow students to allow for other passengers in the socially distanced zone at the front downstairs 0745 Clacton to Colchester Please make sure that you use available seats at the back of the bus and sit with fellow students to allow for other passengers in the socially distanced zone at the front. 1549 ex Colchester – Sixth-formers to sit upstairs, social-distancing downstairs. We will also be providing double-deckers on the 1620 and 1655 journeys from Colchester to enable social distancing. Route 74 We will be providing a double-decker on the 0743 from Clacton to Colchester. 1519 and 1614 Colchester to Clacton Double-deckers will be provided on these journeys. Please make sure that you use available upstairs seats and sit with fellow students to allow for other passengers in the socially distanced zone at the front downstairs. .
