Introduction and Context Introduction 1.1 Warwick District Council is one of five district and borough councils within the county of Warwickshire. The district covers four towns; Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth and Whitnash, and numerous villages. The population served is almost 140,000. 1.2 In April 2012 the Council appointed Neil Allen Associates (NAA) to support them with delivering their vision of developing a long term strategy for the provision of indoor and built sports facilities within the district. The strategy will be used to guide the future provision and management of both new and existing indoor sports facilities in Warwick District in the context of national and regional policy and local sports development needs. 1.3 At the time of the NAA appointment a study of playing pitches was well-advanced by the Council and there was a desire for the indoor strategy to complement the emerging playing pitches strategy, in order to develop an overall strategy for indoor and outdoor sport across the district. This work subsequently stalled and has been picked up additionally by NAA as part of the process, thus ensuring an integrated approach will be developed.

  • December 2019 As We Approach the Christmas Break, Students Are Continuing to Work Hard in Lessons
December 2019 As we approach the Christmas break, students are continuing to work hard in lessons. Year 11 students have just completed their first round of mock exams and will receive their results on their Mock Results Day on Tuesday 7th January 2020. In addition, we look forward to discussing their results with parents on Monday 13th January 2020 at the Year 11 Parents’ Evening. Our Year 13 students have also completed their mock exams and will receive their results in one to one interviews with Miss Murray (Head of Post-16). Many Year 13 students are currently in the process of applying for University and are anxiously waiting for their offers to come in. I have been very impressed with how well our Year 7 students have settled in to life at Aldercar High School. They have quite clearly risen to the many challenges that their first term at Secondary School has thrown at them. To celebrate the end of the Autumn Term, on Friday 20th December we will be: having Christmas dinner (at a cost of £2.40); giving students the opportunity to wear Christmas colours or a Christmas jumper for non-uniform day (for a donation of £1); finishing the term at 1.45pm (if your child needs to stay on the school site until 2.45pm, please contact pupil reception by Thursday 19th December and we will arrange for them to be supervised). We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Monday 6th January, at 8:20am. With regards to staffing, we are saying farewell to Mrs Wolverson who is our Catering Manager.

Standards and quality of provision of RE: 2. Managing the SACRE and Partnership with the LA and Other Key Stakeholders: 3. Effectiveness of the Agreed Syllabus: 4. Collective Worship: 5. SACRE and School Improvement: Appendix 1: Examination data…………………….………………………………… Appendix 2: Diversity in Christianity ……………………………………………… Appendix 3: SACRE Membership and attendance for the year 2016/2017…… 2 Learning and growing through challenging RE Foreword from the Chair of SACRE September 2017 - July 2018 As with any organisation it is the inspiration given by the members that provides the character. I shall focus on some of the creativity we have valued in Bucks SACRE this year both from our members and during our visits to schools. In addition, we receive wise counsel from our Education Officer at Bucks CC, Katherine Wells and our RE Adviser Bill Moore. At our meeting in October we learned that Suma Din our Muslim deputy had become a school governor and would no longer fulfil her role with SACRE. However, her legacy to us is her book published by the Institute of Education Press entitled ‘Muslim Mothers and their children’s schooling.’ See SACRED 7, for a review. (For this and all other references to SACRED see the website at the end of this section). In her contribution to SACRED 6 Suma wrote; From the Qur’an, I understand my role as being a ‘steward’ on this earth; one who will take care, take responsibility and hand on a legacy to those who come after them.
