LINGERIE FRANCAISE EXHIBITION PRESS KIT THE HISTORY OF FRENCH LINGERIE AT THE SAGAMORE HOTEL MIAMI BEACH Continuing its world tour, the Lingerie Francaise exhibition will be presented at the famous Sagamore Hotel Miami Beach during the Art Basel Fair in Miami Beach from November 29th through December 6th, 2016. Free and open to all, the exhibition showcases the ingeniousness and creativity of French lingerie which, for over a century and a half, has been worn by millions of women worldwide. The exhibition is an immersion into the collections of eleven of the most prestigious French brands: AUBADE, BARBARA, CHANTELLE, EMPREINTE, IMPLICITE, LISE CHARMEL, LOU, LOUISA BRACQ, MAISON LEJABY, PASSIONATA and SIMONE PÉRÈLE. With both elegance and playfulness, the story of an exceptional craft unfolds in a space devoted to contemporary art. The heart of this historic exhibition takes place in the Game Room of the Sagamore Hotel. Beginning with the first corsets of the 1880’s, the presentation documents the custom-made creations of the 1930’s, showcases the lingerie of the 1950’s that was the first to use nylon, and culminates with the widespread use of Lycra® in the 1980’s, an epic era of forms and fabrics. This section focuses on contemporary and future creations; including the Lingerie Francaise sponsored competition’s winning entry by Salima Abes, a recent graduate from the university ESMOD Paris. An exclusive collection of approximately one hundred pieces will be exhibited, all of them emblematic of a technique, textile, and/or fashion innovation. A selection of landmark pieces will trace both the history of intimacy and the narrative of women’s liberation.

  • Ten-Minute Time Fillers
Ten-Minute Time Fillers Why do we need "time fillers" anyway? There will be many times during a troop meeting when an activity took less time than you planned or you may find that plans have changed, leaving you with some extra time. In these instances, time fillers can help make a good meeting a great meeting! Write down a few of these time fillers on slips of paper and keep them in a box or can. If you find yourself having some spare time at your next meeting, simply have a girl select one of the time fillers and have fun! Listed in this guide are several ideas for time-fillers. You can find many more suggestions online. Games: Dream Machine Start with one girl. Have her do an action (like tap her foot) and make a sound (like whistle). Add girls, one at a time, each making a different sound and doing a different movement. The girls may attach themselves to one another if they like (i.e. hand on shoulder). This game can be very loud. The girls essentially make a human machine that continually moves and makes noise. Variations: have the girls do the activity using only quiet sounds, participating with their eyes closed, etc. Giant's House Divide into three or four groups. Have girls rejoin into a big circle. To the tune of "Mulberry Bush," sing, "We're going to the giant's house, the giant's house. We're going to the giant' house to see what we can be." Have leader shout out something for the pre-determined groups to become such as "table and chairs," "a car," etc.

La Perla For release: 09/February/2017 803 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10065 Contact: Zehra Ahmad Phone No: (212) 459-2775 LA PERLA PRESENTS FALL/WINTER 2017 READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION New York - February 9th, 2017 - For her second season as creative director, Julia Haart created a beautiful stage for La Perla’s Fall 2017 debut at New York Fashion Week. And with it we see the many possibilities for combining the very separate worlds of ready-to-wear and luxury intimate wear. Floral blooms, ivy everywhere, perfumed moss, flowers flow throughout the windows of the two-story and six rooms called the “La Perla Manor”, where the models are arranged and sat on couches before they walked, one by one on the runway. “I was inspired by the British garden as interpreted by artists throughout history”, said Haart. The designer made a visual the artistic interpretation of British gardens across six sections of a British manor. MORE La Perla FW17 2 Her concept was nature that is viewed by a human being with vibrant color, fierceness, and sensuality. The music was a rock and roll alternative to show the vibrant side the designer wanted to showcase. Haart worked floral motifs throughout her luscious lineup with a galore burst of color and texture. The looks capture a spirit of joyful spunk. Naomi Campbell opens the show in a blue silk and lace slip dress under a macramé-embroidered tweed coat. The texture of the tweed coat shows it’s heavy and durable side which gives a message of strength and masculinity.
