Quinte Health Care has a vacancy for one Psychiatrist (permanent, full- time).

Acute Care Psychiatric/Mental Health Services are provided at QHC Belleville General Hospital as a Schedule One facility under the Mental Health Act. The program includes inpatient, outpatient, transitional outpatient care, emergency services, consultations, and educational services to the community. In addition to the Schedule One services, our spectrum of care includes an Assertive Community Treatment Team, a Crisis Centre, and a Parent, Child, and Youth Clinic. Our Psychiatry team provides 24 hour call coverage.

Physicians can be involved in all or some aspects of our mental health program.

QHC Belleville General Hospital has 28 psychiatric/mental health beds. The department is attached to the Department of Psychiatry at Queen's University as an Academic Unit and provides training to residents and students.

Psychiatrists mainly work out of QHC Belleville General Hospital but there is opportunity for outreach programs at each of the four Quinte Health Care sites (also includes Trenton Memorial Hospital in Quinte West, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital in Picton, and North Hastings Hospital in Bancroft).

Candidates will require Royal College certification along with an independent license with the CPSO. Experience in a team environment, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Compensation is fee for service with sessional support; salaried option available.
