Museum of GuangFuLin Archaelogical Remains APPLIED PRODUCT

Guangfulin became a famous archaeology site when a farmer in 1959 accidentally discovered relics from GuangFuLin culture that thrived some 5,000 years ago.

Under construction since 2014 with opening schedule by end of 2017, GuangFuLin relics park have over 20 attractive sites such as the Museum of GuangFuLin Archaeological Remains which displays the unearthed pottery vases and others relics.

This museum of 8,000 m2 also dubbed « the Jar museum » for its jar shape. Romon U-park is a 200,000 m2 amusement park located in Ningbo. By its size it can be considered as one of the largest urban indoor theme parks in the world.

Romon U-park consists of a 57.4m high indoor park and an outdoor park called “Legend Island”. In those two areas, there are over 30 attractions, 30 restaurants and 20 shops.

Newly built accommodation at the University of Derby features the Parex Monolith brick panel system to provide a traditional “brick built” appearance. Cathedral Court in the centre of the city provides 350 en-suite bed spaces in a complex constructed on site in under 18 months ready for the start of the University year. The Broad is a contemporary art museum founded by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler. The 120,000 sq. ft. building features two floors of gallery space with over 2,000 works of art in its broad collection.

This project faced a unique installation that consisted of many rolling compound curved surfaces that had no control joints. While there were no weather issues there was the challenge of being in Downtown Los Angeles, near the Walt Disney Concert Hall, which has continuous traffic issues that can be difficult to contend with.

Danse Studio was built in 2015 in Biarritz (south west region of France). This building is dedicated to danse activities.

It is a new building made out of concrete walls. The initial requirement for thermal performance lead to choose an External Insulation Finish System.

Curved EPS was specifically manufactured for round walls. EPS is directly glued on the wall, without any additional anchors. The bonding is strong enough in this windy area. ■ PARISO PSE-M MAITE basecoat is used on top of EPS. Maite has a very high resin content, External Insulation Composite System wich make it unique on the French market. It is very easy-to- apply, flexible, and long lasting. Following its rapid expansion and success in Luzon, the group grew its retail portfolio to include department stores, supermarkets, and food establishments.

Its latest branch in Kawit Cavite required the application of our PAREX EIFS (Exterior Insulation Finishing System). It is a 3 level shopping mall that features a 24-hour Food Hall, 4 cinemas, department store, supermarket, hardware store, toy store, and its own transport hub. Trivselhus homes have been setting standards in Sweden for more than two decades and are now being built in the UK by leading North East housebuilder Esh. These homes are thermally efficient, energy saving properties designed to achieve an Energy Performance Rating of category ‘A’, compared to the standard UK ‘E’ rating.

For a 16-home development at Hexham Gate on the outskirts of the Roman town of Hexham, Northumberland, the render system has been specified for the rendered elevations of the homes. A PAREXTHERM External Wall Insulation (EWI) system has been installed to contribute to energy-efficiency and comfort levels at a new £7.5 million healthcare facility in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

Commissioned by East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group, St Luke’s Treatment Centre was built by Morgan Sindall. The building comprises a structural steel frame with Siniat GTEC Weather Defence board, providing the substrate for the PAREXTHERM Acrylic render system which features in a series of panels at the main entrance and around the windows on all sections of the facade. The PAREX EWI system was specified due to it combining high insulation levels at the same time as achieving cost savings. ■ MAITE During construction PAREX Weathertech Weatherseal was applied as a flexible ALSO sealant to all window and door openings to provide added protection from the ■ 355 AVU MESH elements and following completion of the rendered facades, the addition of ■ DPR PRIMER a Paraguard protective coating was applied as a further defence against the ■ DPR SAND COURSE weather and environmental elements. Paseo Aldrey, Cultural & Commercial Center APPLIED PRODUCT

Paseo Aldrey Cultural and Commercial Mall was built over the old train station, founded 107 years ago. The project covers two blocks, with 115 shops, a car park for 500 cars, 6 movie theaters and a Cultural Center for 1,200 people.

The idea was to preserve the original structure of the dome, designed by the renowned Belgian Architect Jules Dormal. For the restauration of the facade, in order to preserve the stony appearance REVEAR Natural Stone was used, to cover the 12,000 m2 of facade.

The project started in 2013 by the businessman Aldrey Iglesias and the construction companies IMASA, PLANTEL and CONSORTI / SILVA renowned constructors in Mar del Plata. After two years of being under construction it was inaugurated in October 2015.

18,000 m2 of former coating was removed from the concrete substrate. The very damaged concrete needed a major repair done with 739 LANKOCRETE SPECIAL and 761 LANKOSTEEL.

PARINTER RENOVATION was applied on the prepaired substrate to allow the application of a lime-rich finish coat named PARLUMIERE FIN.

The original Theme Building, which houses the Encounter Restaurant, opened in 1961. The Theme Building (which included its famous 135 ft. high parabolic «arches»), was designated as a City Cultural and Historical Monument in December 1992, by the Los Angeles City Council.

Almost 50 years later when a 1000 lb. section of the exterior stucco fell to the ground, the building was closed and an investigation began to determine the cause, and correction. PAREX USA was contacted in May 2007 by Architect Harrison Whitney, who was one of the architects on the original Theme Building design team, in 1958. He was hired as a consultant for Gin Wong & Associates of Los Angeles, to assist Architect Millard Lee in determining the mode of failure, ■ DPR ACRYLIC FINISH and design a structural and aesthetic correction. ALSO The team determined that water had seeped into the original stucco and ■ PAREX TYPE F BASE corrosion of the building’s steel substructure framework had caused the ■ 121 DRY failure. After meeting with GWA reviewing the plans and details, PAREX USA ■ MESH presented a PAREX EIFS System and a PAREX Stucco Assembly as potential ■ 310 PRIMER replacement claddings. Several months later after much extensive research and testing of the original steel framework, and a very involved approval process TECHNICAL DETAILS including the City of Los Angeles, structural engineers, and many others, the PAREX Stucco Assembly had been approved and specified for the retrofitting ■ 47,000 sq. ft and APEX Plastering Company was selected as the applicator.

Professional Tiling Services were commissioned to do the tiling work which was carried out using Davco waterproofing, adhesive and grout products. K10 Rapid Class III waterproofing membrane was used for waterproofing of the bathrooms and showers. K10 Rapid is a fast drying, highly flexible, water-based polyurethane waterproofing membrane.

Davco acoustic underlay, waterproofing membranes and tile adhesives were used throughout the development in the hallways, living areas, kitchens and bathrooms.

Sound Zero Acoustic Mat reduces sound transmission through floor tiling ■ Sound Zero Acoustic Mat systems making it ideal for this large development. It is a direct stick acoustic tiling system that sits flat for ease of use. Davco products were used extensively throughout the construction of one of the NSW North Coast’s most spectacular apartment buildings, the Sunrise Apartments at Tuncurry near Forster.

When the 700 m2 showroom floor of the John Hughes Volkswagen dealership at Victoria Park, Perth was to be retiled, Davco’s Ultrabond primer/bond enhancer was selected to prepare the surface for tiling.

According to David Mortimer Operations Manager of City Tile Contractors, the preferred contractors for the project, when the old carpet was ripped up a surface contaminated with old adhesive was exposed.

This mid size residential project site is situated on an area of 20,256 square meters, has 9 blocks that are 17 storey high, housing 610 units. A large two level basement carpark, requiring approximately 4,000 m3 of waterproofed concrete,was designed to connect all of these tower blocks, allowing resident a weatherproof access from their carpark directly to their individual homes, and branching out to allow access to various parts of the estate. Due to the tight work schedule for the basement, the architects wanted an effective and easy to install waterproofing system that does not delay the progress of work on site and saves on labour when compared to other waterproofing system in the market. The piers and the waffle slab of the parking area presents a high degree of deterioration with high problems of structural stability.

Concrete carbonation and chlorides attack was the principal cause of the structure degradation.

The main damage detected was the steel corrosion and lose of concrete sections. The structural steel bars present a high corrosion index, with a very important lost of section.

Paseo San Bernardo Mall APPLIED PRODUCTS

The new Paseo San Bernardo Mall, a shopping centre that will be located on a 70,955 m2 site in the centre of San Bernardo, Chile, will include four underground levels and will be the first building in Chile to use an innovative “top-down” construction system that helps significantly reduce the time it takes to perform work.

This “top-down” construction method involves first building exterior walls and support columns for the structure, with slurry walls or driven pilings. Next, the construction team digs down to where the concrete floor will be poured. The structural beams are put in place and concrete is poured directly on the ground. This process of excavating and pouring concrete on the ground is repeated for each underground level. In this way, the structure is completed below the ■ LANKO ADIBOND surface (down). At the same time, the aboveground structure (up) can be built independently as the process moves forward. The project of extension of the school complex Font Romeu-Odeillo-Via is the opportunity to invest in a system of boiler drink / pellets. The strengthening of the outside waterproofness makes necessary the use of a solution of waterproofing by crystallization inside premises.

223 LANKOPARKING is chosen for its performances in resistance both in the positive and negative pressure. But also for its use to handle at the same time walls and ground.

Having made sure that the concrete has a surface enough open, walls were moistened in refusal before the application of 223 LANKOPARKING. 223 LANKOPARKING was applied as a thick paint : 1st pass from top to bottom then 2nd left pass has right. This second pass was realized as soon as the first one was hard in the touch (after 30 mn around) and without remoistening. ■ CRYSTALLINE TECHNOLOGY CIRCULABLE LOW CONSUMPTION Because of the high fluidity of the mortar the application with the brush was easily made. VVF Plant Mumbai APPLIED PRODUCTS

VVF India – the largest manufacturer of bar soaps, with a production capacity of 300,000 metric tonnes, having their units located across four continents – were recently looking for repairing work to be done in one of their plants in Mumbai. The Foundation Column holding their main machinery was due for repairs damaged from various places and needed repair. The work had to be finished within 96 hrs as the machinery placed over the Foundation column was crucial for their processing.

PAREX India along with our authorised applicator were called for checking the site and for suggesting a solution. After the inspection, LANKO 731-High Strength Single Pack Fibre Reinforced Thixotropic Mortar was suggested to the team of VVF India for making the profile of the damaged column. It was used for covering the area in layers of thickness not exceeding 25 mm (applying bond coat at every layer) up to profile of concrete in the vicinity. LANKO 721- Epoxy injection grout was used in the column for sealing non-movement joints in concrete and protecting from corrosion. The column was finally jacketed ■ LANKO 731 using LANKO 701 MC – high early strength flow-able micro-concrete. On July 19th 2012, Sebastián Piñera, president of the Republic of Chile, announced the refurbishment of some stadiums thorough all the country. Description of the project : Work to widen the A46 in the Lyon sector made it necessary to reinforce the bridge decks by applying carbon reinforcement.

Problem : Adding two traffic lanes required the use of structural reinforcement positioned on the upper surface of the bridge deck. Moreover, the company mandated for the work, TSV, represented by Mr Weisse, was looking for a qui- ck-to-implement solution.

Structural reinforcement by application of LANKOSTRUCTURE® CARBOTEX® fabric

Problem : As part of upgrade work (guard rails, cornices, water drainage, surfacing, etc.) on the structure, the Client also wished to treat fine cracks in the beams at the stringers by reinforcing the shear strength of the bridge deck. To remedy the problem, Vinci Autoroute decided to reinforce the structure by installing carbon reinforcements.

PAREXLANKO solutions : The decision was made to use a composite reinforcement rather than a sprayed concrete solution with metal reinforcements. The 92 Arena is a stadium and concert hall situated in Nanterre close to Paris whose opening is scheduled for 2016. This stadium will be the resident stadium for one Paris Professional Rugby Team: Racing Metro 92.

But Arena 92 stadium is also modular and multi-purpose building that can accommodate 32,000 spectators in rugby stadium mode and 10,000 to 40,000 spectators in fashion concert hall. On concert hall configuration, the Arena 92 will be the largest concert hall in France. The stadium will be equipped with a screen among the largest in the world with an area of 2,000 m2.

Palaiseau Radar Station APPLIED PRODUCT

To enable the implementation of the project to develop the area of the Ecole Polytechnique, the Air Navigation Services Direction conducts the movement and raises a guidance radar of Orly airport. This Radar station is a part of a network of 19 stations for secondary monopulse radar coverage of the French territory. The radar station will be delivered in the first quarter of 2016.

The customer ask to anchor precast segments set on jobsites. The work consists in doing a bonding of concrete beams which can be assembled together in each level of the radar station with a maximum pouring in the basement of the buidling of 60 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm.

Pralognan Penstock APPLIED PRODUCTS

The project relates to the repair and protection of special precast concrete units which in turn protect a concrete pipe against the extreme environment that exist in the area. These include low temperatures and avalanches. The length of the penstock is 1,610 m, the head valve is located at 1,620 m, the electric plant at 906 m giving a height difference of 714 meters. The block section is composed of 450 units, these are 1 meter in length. The vaulted precast units are set on concrete “pile blocks”. In total some 2,225 m2 of concrete repair were carried out. ■ PRECAST SEGMENTS The jobsite is located in the National Vanoise Park in the French Alps. It was REPARATION WITH LANKO 731 ■ necessary to take into account the constraints of the environment and also the PRECAST SEGMENTS access to the terrain. Due to the mountainous location, all products and equipment PROTECTION WITH LANKO 228 had to be delivered by helicopter to specific drop zones allowing employee safety and evacuation if necessary. Waterproofing systems for drinking water tank APPLIED PRODUCT

The town hall of St Maurice of Lignon committed the renovation of its water tanks of 300 m3 and launched, at the same time, the construction of new two water tanks of 500 m3.

The solution retained by the company was the system EPOXY LANKOCOAT DW, a laminated system of waterproofness intended to protect and to waterproof the inside of the concrete works containing drinking water.

This system consists of the primary 400 LANKOCOAT EPOXY DW, then the epoxy resin 401 LANKOCOAT EPOXY DW and of two grids 402 LANKOCOAT GRID DW 450 and 403 LANKOCOAT GRID DW 800. First, the main issue is to realize the works of waterproofing of the new water tanks with the primary 400 LANKOCOAT EPOXY DW and the resin 401 LANKOCOAT EPOXY DW.

As soon as both new reservoirs are out of ground, it will be time to associate one ■ 400 LANKOCOAT EPOXY DW of the two armatures to realize the renovation work of the water tank of 300 m3. Hero Motor Corp. – Halol plant APPLIED PRODUCT

When Hero Motor Corp. – World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle manufacturer based in India, were looking for waterproofing solution for their new plant in Halol - Gujarat, they invited PAREX India to review their site and give the appropriate solution. They wanted waterproofing done on their terrace area across the plant-- the main production facility of motorcycle and scooters.

PAREX alongwith its authorised applicator visited the site, with area of application of 10,000 sq.mt. After, reviewing the site K10 PU Plus was recommended for the terrace waterproofing.

K10 PU Plus in white colour was used as an underlayment. It was covered with screed and finally solar panels installed on top of it.

This project was successfully completed in 2016 and is a prestigious project for our reference.

When the office of Charity of Commissioner, Gujarat were looking for repairing their old office structure, they invited ParexGroup team along with our authorized applicator who specializes in repair works, to review their site.

After visiting the site, we recommended LANKO 731 reinforced thixotropic structural grade repair mortar. The initial crack filling and bonding was done using LANKO 751. Golden Bridge Waterfront Kuching APPLIED PRODUCT

It is dubbed Golden Bridge and built at a cost of RM35 million linking Kuching waterfront to the State Assembly building.

The ‘S’ shape pedestrian bridge is 400 meter in length, 3.25 meter wide and twelve meters above the river to enable easy access to both sides of the river. This unique curved 325 m pedestrian bridge would be supported by cables from two 4m and 48-degree outward angled steel towers topped out with stylised hornbills.

The Kelana Jaya Line is a light rapid transit (LRT) system network in Klang Valley operated by Rapid Rail, a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia. It used to be known as the PUTRA line.

The line runs from Kelana Jaya to Gombak, serving the Petaling Jaya region to the south; southwest and central Kuala Lumpur, and Kuala Lumpur City Centre to the centre; and low density residential areas further north.

Specialty chemicals company, Evonik has chosen to construct their first world-scale methionine complex in Asia at Banyan Avenue in Jurong Island, Singapore, The complex will enable backward integration of all the key intermediates that go into the manufacturing of methionine.

Methionine is used as nutrient in feeds to promote the growth of poultry and livestock, shorten the feeding cycle and increase the quantity of lean meat and this plant will produce 150,000 metric tons per annum of amino acid DL- methionine,together with all the strategically important intermediates upon completion.

The total estimated on the plant is €500m ($636.Sm) and it is the largest investment being made by the company on the chemical plant to date.

“Sant Oleguer” wastewater infrastructure APPLIED PRODUCTS

The layout of the Sant Oleguer collector passes under La Bassa, a recreational water park located in Sabadell (Barcelona). It is one of the largest swimming pools in Europe, with a 100 meter diameter glass and a depth of 1.80 meters in the deepest part.

Hydroelectric Channel Tambre APPLIED PRODUCT

The project consist in repair and waterproofing a conduction channel of the Tambre Hydroelectric Plant. The main part of the channel was built in stone and concrete. The channel is 100 years old, of whom 50 without any treatment. The water structure had different pathologies as water leakage, the surface was eroded and a water inlets from the field appear in some places.

After prove the mortar 221 LANKOIMPER CAPA GRUESA on the jobsite, testing their adhesion to the support , the owner Gas Natural Fenosa approved the treatment of the channel with LANKO product. (over 2 km of channel – first step).

In broad terms, the repair and waterproofing of the structure consisted in the following steps :

The Comedy Carpet on Blackpool’s seafront has the town’s famous Victorian tower as its backdrop. The carpet is a public artwork which celebrates the catchphrases and sayings of some of Britain’s best- known comedians and entertainers. It forms part of a multi-million pound development of the tower festival headland which in summer hosts concerts and events by top names.

With more than 160,000 individual letters ranging in size from a few centimetres to almost a metre tall. PAREX 100 NEWTON AW (ANTI-WASHOUT) GROUT was used for transition grouting of more than 70 wind turbine foundations for key energy company E.ON over a two year period.

The material was delivered to locations in the North Sea in bulk tankers mounted on the deck of supply vessels.

Bulk delivery to the point of use ensured that the material was protected from contamination in the harsh conditions, ready for placement using continuous mixer pumps direct to the foundations.

Phase two extension to the Nottingham Express APPLIED PRODUCT transit system

As part of the Nottingham city tram system, that started some 18 years ago, the recent Toton extension has been completed using structural grouts from Parex.

The line serves the City, main railway station, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham University, Beeston and the future interchange with the proposed High Speed 2 (HS2) rail project. The images relate to the major bridge over the A52 trunk road and the associated viaduct, leading up to and away from the bridge.

The single arch weighs 1,060 tonnes and is supported on massive mechanical bearings which in turn are supported using 100N Grout. The approach viaduct is also supported on PAREX CS GROUT, chosen because of compliance with Highways ■ PAREX CS GROUT PAREX 100 Specification 2601 and for its slow set but rapid hardening properties. A combination of PAREX BS 7533-compliant mortars has been used for a major public realm hard landscaping scheme carried out as part of a heritage conservation and transformation programme at The Piece Hall, Halifax, which was built in the 18th century as a trading hub for the Yorkshire woollen industry. The Piece Hall has a square footprint around an extensive courtyard which is surrounded on all sides by many small trading units. Later, the building became the town’s market and has served as a cultural and commercial centre since an initial refurbishment in the 1970s.

When Shreeji Group – a major developer group of Delhi and NCR, were looking for waterproofing solution provider for their premium project named “SKY GARDEN”, they entrusted the job to PAREX India and its associated applicator.

PAREX India along with its approved applicator were invited for site visit and after understanding client’s requirement, a solution involving K11 FLEX was proposed for their podium waterproofing work. Initial work was carried out using LANKO 731 to repair all the joint in the podium and then by coating the surface with primer LANKO 753. After treating the surface, two coats of K11 FLEX were applied on it. Jubilee Gardens on London’s Southbank lies in the shadow of the famous London Eye and required the highest quality natural paving materials for a scheme that was five years in the planning.

The new green landmark for London has revitalised an area originally developed to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. PAREX streetscape products played a central role in the transformation of a former Gas Works site in St. Helier on Jersey into a prestigious new town park.

The idea of a town park in St. Helier dates back to the mid 1990’s when it was decided to transform the area of the redundant gas works, which was being used as a car park, into a neighbourhood park featuring a large expanse of hard landscaping and water features. A high profile hard landscaping scheme in central Woking was completed using a combination of Streetscape mortars from PAREX. The refurbishment features high quality materials to enhance a wider £7.3 million facelift programme for Wolsey Place, one of the key shopping areas of the town which was acquired by Woking Borough Council in 2010. A combination of PAREX Streetscape materials was specified by landscape engineers Gillespies, of London, in conjunction with Belfast- based Doran Consulting. ■ PAREX FBC BEDDING MORTAR Some 320 tonnes of PAREX FINE BEDDING CONCRETE were site mixed to ■ PAREX BOND PLUS BONDING strict specifications using the replenishable Silo system and used at a nominal MORTAR depth of 30mm, while Bond strength was enhanced by coating the paving units ■ PAREX GRANATECH JOINTING with PAREX BOND PLUS. Slurry-applied PAREX GRANATECH was used for MORTAR the 6-8mm joints in the paved sections.
